After seeing him shutdown Moss, I was convinced that Revis was the #2 CB in this league.

Since you were comparing last year, Champ was not himself. And most of the passes thrown his way that were completed were all when he came back from injury (obviously not fully recovered, unlike this year which speaks for itself). Speaking of his injury (which happened during the NE game) he held Moss to 2 receptions for 16 yards. After he got injured, Moss got over 100 yards. Almost all in the second half.

Though I wouldn't say Champ is still a shutdown CB, but then again, no one in this league is. Even Aso. Or else your completion percentage would be below 20%. I still think he's top 5, but that's bout it.

I won't comment on the Revis vs Bailey debate as I'm a Broncos fan.

Explain why, other than being a Jets fan how Revis is better than Bailey. Bailey's the much harder hitter and much better tackler. I would say Bailey is much better at making big plays too.

How about you explain why, with your Champ thread, Champ avator, Champ sig and Champ=best CB in the nfl underneath it. Cool

Just did....Better tackler, better playmaker, better shut down CB, better at everything, Just doesn't have a Jets uniform on.

Well, well...Revis is a better shut down corner, better playmaker, batter tackler!!11!!1

You've just done excatly what ukjets21 did and yet you said please explain, and yet your calling him a homer, ridiculous.

The guy didn't even explain anything, Wow.

Honestly, Revis = Most overrated NFL player right now.

He shuts down every receiver he lines up against. He even gives Aso a run for his money. Champ isn't even top 5 anymore in my opinion.

You're right, I mean Ginn just blew past him and Colston exploded for 150+ yards against him, What D! Rolling Eyes

One freakin' play. Henne and Ginn must be great players than, right?

What the hell are you talking about? Colston had 33 receiving yards. Against Revis he had 3 targets and 0 catches. That game Revis was targeted 5 times. 0 catches and 2 PDs. You must be talking about another game.

Nope, but Revis didn't do garbage against Moss at least garbage that Bailey couldn't do. I saw that game and the Jets just did nothing but blitz, makes Revis look like a better on paper than he does in real life. Bailey is the real best CB, Revis is a softie.

Since his first game against Moss, Revis has gotten the best of him each and every game. He has even beat him in two jump balls.

Meh, Bailey owns all he forced a fumble against Gates.

Bailey is a harder hitter and is more physical, Revis is a softie that asks Rex "Fatty" Ryan to hype him up.

Let's look at the statbook!

Revis: 11 PD, 2 INT, Thrown at 45 times for 20 receptions.
Bailey: 8 PD, 1 INT, Thrown at 39 times for 18 receptions

I'd go Revis. PD is most important for a CB.

You tell me how many CBs can make an openfield tackle on Brandon Jacobs.

Completely false statement there.... And also you forgot where Ocho Cinco says that Revis is the best CB in the NFL.

Another false statement, where do you get that Revis isn't physical? The guy is a GREAT tackler in open field, and he is also GREAT at press coverage. Hes not soft any bit, who cares if he doesn't go for big hits, I rather have the DB make a sure tackle than try and big hit and miss.

Also showing 1 time Revis got beat is dumb, if I had the film there is PLENTY of times Bailey has been torched.

Jets blitzed the entire time against Brady, which led to him being unable to even get a good throw off. Bailey actually had to defend Moss, you know keep up with him? Jets homer taking over this thread.

Doesn't Bailey have Elvis Dumervil, 2nd in the league in sacks, helping him every game? This isn't a good argument for your teams sake. If your going to fault Revis for having a good scheme then also fault Bailey for having plenty of talent around him. Elvis puts plenty of pressure on the every QB, so if you say a blitz scheme causes Revis to look good then you can attribute Bailey's good play to his defenses good play aswell.
