Lions signed veteran CB Jason David today. Interesting signing, they've gone through a bunch of changes at that position.

David was cut by the Saints during the off-season after two seasons, despite a 5 INTs season in 2008 David was constantly beaten in coverage for big plays.

***Update***
The Lions cut Jason David.

The Lions are in an awful situation CB wise right now. Just awful. I don't even find it funny, I feel bad for their fans.

Do Lions play zone or man to man? Jason David is a decent CB...just not in man to man...

When they brought in Rod Marinelli they were moving towards running the Tampa-2.

But when they fired Marinelli and hired Schwartz I kind of thought that was over.

Ewww, good luck with this guy. Honestly, I think he may possibly be the worst player in the NFL at any position.

What the heck are the Lions thinking? Sign Mike McKenzie instead, he's 100x times better and won't cost you any more than Toasty.

Depends on the Lions system, Mike McKenzie IMO would be terrible in a zone scheme but is a good CB in a man to man scheme but at this point I think his career is over, now Jason David was absolutely dreadful in man to man but he was a good CB for Indianapolis, if he goes to a scheme that plays mostly zone I think he should do fine.

I knew the Lions were desperate for cornerbacks, but not THAT desperate. Amazing there is still demand for this clown's services.

Jason David is worse than a hole in the coverage.

Not true, he played very well in Indy's Cover 2 which is why we went after him, hoping it could transfer over to man to man. We were wrong. I think on a Cover 2 team he could still play well.
