Good news/bad news....
| Rotoworld wrote: | Chiefs claimed WR Chris Chambers off waivers from the Chargers.
Chambers is running on fumes, but he'll get plenty of opportunity for playing time on the receiver-needy Chiefs. Coach Todd Haley has brought in at least a half-dozen veteran options since camp and only slot receiver Bobby Wade remains a factor. Don't expect fantasy value in the Chiefs' woeful offense, even if he does pass struggling Mark Bradley on the depth chart. |
Bad news is that he takes team knowledge to a division opponent, and revenge games usually work in favor of the player. Good news is that by them claiming him, it clears up $4.55mil of cap space. _________________

Looks like Buster still won't see the field.
| Rotoworld wrote: | Chargers coach Norv Turner said that WR Kassim Osgood will "get back into a role as a receiver."
Osgood has been primarily a special teamer this season and hasn't caught a single ball. Even though Chris Chambers' departure opens a hole, Osgood will be the No. 4 WR at best. |
I like it. Osgood can block, he's big, and he's hungry. I don't see him blowing this chance. _________________

I don't know. It was reported that he was sick with the flu a few weeks ago, but he should be healthy by now. I hope this is a situation like we had with Floyd in 2007(?) where he was inexplicably on the bench despite showing flashes of greatness. He's supposedly healthy now, but to be fair, we can only get the ball to so many people. Even Naanee hasn't seen too many looks because guys like Floyd, VJ, and Gates are just that good... |

Davis has been injured since LSU. He lacks that killer instinct.
I wish we'd have cut Chambers in pre-season like I lobbied for. We could still have Gartrell or any of other guys we lost.
Signing an OLB is kind of weird but we lost Applewhite to IR and Dobbins is hurt. Bring in Siler for every down service. _________________

Buster won't see the field this week, or maybe even the next. Completely different story when Dobbins and Burnett come back from injury and players like Siler and Dobbins can see special teams action again. Then Davis will see the active 45. I have a feeling he will get his shot during the later parts of this year.

Very well put. Not too long ago I was completely fed up with Jackson and his terrible inconsistencies. And I know I wasn't alone.
| Quote: | | You're right in that there's no logical replacement to replace Clary (I wouldn't object to Dombrowski only because he would be hungry for the playing time). It's mostly that I cringe every time Rivers gets nailed because Clary is just too slow to pass block. Who knows, maybe AJ finds someone off the scrap heap to replace Clary. |
Dombroski isn't a natural guard, so it's not fair to judge him off of his time there, but Clary is miles ahead of him. Clary allowed a sack this week, but other than that was great in pass protection. We'll see how he holds up against the Giants, Eagles, and Broncos. I think it's safe to say all 3 teams have very good edge rushers. _________________

WOW!
Just saw this....
Granted he was far from good play this season.... but to simply cut him....
Big surprise right there! _________________
