| Hey if he is as healthy as he was in his first 3 years we could have a playmaker with him and Rashaun Woods can get in the mix at the 3rd spot. |

| WOOOW this is a huge pickup. the niners def. wont draft wr in the 1st round so that will narrow it down to a defensive player or an OL or a qb. i think barlow improves with the improvement of the line. i think boston, lloyd, and woods are going to be great receivers (as long as their qb can throw to them). i am all for aaron rodgers to be drafted by the niners now because no sense in drafting williams now. |

| What a relief! Boston has turned into a headcase. Look at the trouble he got in at San Diego! With the law as well as Schotty.... |

What a relief, how is it a relief when you almost got a guy that led the leauge in rec. yards and got him for min.$. I think under Sullivan and Nolan they could have molded him in to a great reciever again.
But reports say there are still working out a deal so its not over yet |

The deal is likely to happen, but just on hold.

and 49ers beat writer
Matt Maiocco, Santa Rosa Press Dem.3/11/05
"As for matters on the playing field, the 49ers signed veteran kicker Joe Nedney to a one-year contract for the league-minimum salary of $665,000, and continued to investigate the possibility of adding free-agent wide receiver David Boston.
Boston had encountered various off the field problems, including a four-game suspension last season for violating the league's steroid policy and a one-game suspension while with San Diego in '03 for violating team rules. He has also missed 25 games the last three seasons due to injuries.
The Miami Dolphins released him this week after he failed a physical. Boston missed last season with a torn patellar tendon in his knee. He is expected to be near full speed in four weeks.
Boston has worked well in the past with 49ers receivers coach Jerry Sullivan, an Arizona Cardinals assistant during Boston's best NFL seasons. Coach Mike Nolan is doing more research on Boston before agreeing to give the go-ahead to complete the deal.
"Coach Nolan said from the outset he wants to get the right people and right players on this football team," director of public relations Kirk Reynolds said. "As we approach each player in free agency and the draft he will do his due diligence on each guy and that includes David Boston. He wants to make sure players fit into the team and our organization." Nedney, a San Jose State product, was recently released by the Tennessee Titans after appearing in just one game the past two seasons due to separate injuries. Nedney is expected to take over for Todd Peterson, who signed this week with the Atlanta Falcons." |
