why all the talk of trading the #1

why does everybody talk about trading the first pick down? why is there no talk about trying to pick up another 1st rounder?
solutions:
1) draft rodgers first, trade 2nd and/or 3rd pick, and/or Rattay/dorsey and try to get another top 5 pick
2) draft one of the auburn backs, r. brown or c. williams first, then trade 2nd and/or 3rd pick, and barlow for a top 5 pick, and get a. rodgers or a. smith or draft an o-lineman, j. brown or a. barron

Because many are not sold on one guy enough to spend $50+ million on him! That's approximately what a #1 pick will demand over a 4-5 year contract.
