If you were an expansion team what would you have done this offseason?
Rules
1. You have the 1st pick in every round
2. You may trade down 2 times but up as many as you like
3. To trade down you must use
http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php
4. You may take any player drafted after your pick.
5. Tell what scheme you would be running

Defense: 3-4
Offense: Balenced

Trade
Broncos Trade #12, #18, and #48 for #1
Trade
Patriots Trade #34 and #40 for #12
#18. Michael Oher
#33. Rey Malaluga
#34. Everette Brown
#40. Ron Brace
#48. William Beaty
#65. Shonne Greene
#97. DJ Moore
#129. Duke Robinson
#161. Mike Mickens
#193. Zach Follett
Overall I like this draft because It lets my establish some of the key elements to a team. I get my 2 Tackles both of whom could be great starters. I get a franchise LG. I also get my Rush OLB and NT the 2 most important spots for a 3-4 defense. I get a leader at ILB in Malaluga. I get 2 good ballhawking CB. I get a bruising RB. And I get a great Leader in Zach Follett who is just a great football player.

I'd suggest one change. No one is going to trade up for the first round pick of this draft.

Round 1 (1)- Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
Round 2 (1)- TRADE Round 2 (1) and Round 7 (1) for Round 2 (13) and Round 3 (27)
Round 2 (13)- Connor Barwin, DE, Cincinnati
Round 3 (1)- Alex Magee, DT, Purdue
Round 3 (27)- TRADE Round 3 (27) for Buffalo Round 4 (10) and Round 4 (21)
Round 4 (1)- Jonathan Luigs, C, Arkansas
Round 4 (10)- Victor Butler, OLB, Oregon State
Round 4 (21)- Lawrence Sidbury, Jr. DE, Richmond
Round 5 (1)- Kenny McKinley, WR, South Carolina
Round 6 (1)- Andrew Gardner, OT, Georgia Tech
UDFA's of note- QB Graham Harrell, Texas Tech; Marlon Lucky, RB, Nebraska; Tony Davis, CB, Penn State; Anthony Scirotto, S, Penn State

Offense: Power Running
Defense: 4-3

I am too lazy to do trades so here is mine.

1. Jason Smith- franchise LT to protect my QB
2. Alphonso Smith- Personally I love this guy and think he is the next big thing in the NFL at corner
3. Michael Johnson- Hopefully can be a dominant pass rusher for my defense
4. Jonathon Luigs- Build around my O line and I now have my franchise LT and leader of the line in Luigs
5. Duke Robinson- Continue to build my O line with a dominate LG
6. James Davis- Can be my workhorse back who can hit the homerun
7. Ricky Jean-Francois- Wanting to build my lines I feel Francois with the right coaching could dominate next to Johnson.

I went a different direction going with heavy O line and projects on the D line. We would run a 4-3 defense with a run heavy offense

Defense: 4-3, Cover-2

Offense: Run Heavy

1. Eugene Monroe- Think he'll have a better career than Jason Smith.

2. Ron Brace- I need to stop the run first to even have a chance defensively.

3. Jarron Gilbert- Another talented big guy up front

Trade: 4th round #1 pick and 2010 7th round pick traded for 4th R #14 and 5th R #5.

4. Chip Vaughn- In the box SS, with some cover skills.

5. Scott McKillop- Need at least decent 1 LB to start off with.

5. Duke Robinson- Big strong OG that could have easily been taken in the 1st 3 rounds.

6. Cedric Peerman- A good young RB that would be successful in a 2 back system.

Trade: 7th round #1 for 7th round #s 18 and 20 from the Dallas Cowboys

7. Mike Mickens- possible starting CB or NB.

7. Rashad Jennings- a guy to split the load with Peerman.

LT Monroe
LG Robinson

RBs Peerman, Jennings

DT Brace
DT Gilbert

MLB McKillop

SS Vaughn

CB Mickens

Just for fun I'm gonna name this team the Mile High Mustangs. The team would run a 3-4 base defense, and an offense much like what my home state Broncos ran last year with Cutler. And I'm just gonna use the Bronco's picks, including the trades they made.

Draft Picks-

Pick 1A, #12-Brian Orakpo, DE/OLB, Texas
Pick 1B, #18-Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State
Pick 2A, #37-Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC
Pick 2B, #48-William Beatty, OT, UConn
Pick 2C, #64-Antoine Caldwell, C, Alabama
Pick 4A, #114-David Bruton, S, Notre Dame
Pick 4B, #132-Terrance Taylor, NT, Michigan
Pick 5, #141-James Casey, TE, Rice
Pick 6, #171-Coye Francis, CB, San Jose State
Pick 7, #225-Ricky Jean-Francois, DL, LSU

Undrafted Free Agents-

Jason Watkins, OT, Florida
Chris Pressley, FB, Wisconsin
Chris Baker, DL, Hampton
Jeremy Navarre, DL, Maryland
Orion Martin, DE/OLB, Virginia Tech
Cedric Dockery, G, Texas
Zach Potter, DE, Nebraska
Greg Carr, WR, Florida State
Mitch King, DL, Iowa
Jaison Williams, WR, Oregon

That is completely unrealistic doing that trade up with Denver. No one is ever going to make that trade. And the funny thing is, most of the people have done that exact same trade.

Its pretty much like those people who play Madden and make unrealistic trades and load their team up with the best players in the league.

Offense Type : West Coast Offense
Defense Type : 4-3/3-4 hybrid, Cover 3 shell

1(1) - Mark Sanchez - QB - USC
2(1) - Alphonso Smith - CB - Wake Forrest
3(1) - Shonn Greene - RB - Iowa

1(1) - Dez Bryant - WR - Oklahoma State
2(1) - Anthony Davis - OT - Rutgers
2(Trade up from 3-1) - Eric Noorwood - DE/LB - South Carolina
4(1) - Al Woods - DE/DT - LSU

OK, I won't make trades, but I'll sign FA's, from the draft and just general FA's, to make a full roster. I'll mainly draft in the trenches early, to give my team a strong core.

Offense - balanced
Defence - Hybrid

First of all, the draft:

1 - Eugene Monroe. Best OT in the draft IMO, great pass blocker, ready to play right away.

2 - Eben Britton. Another good OT, to create the foundations for a good OL, which is a necessity if I want any form of short term success, also it will make an average QB and RB look good.

3 - Jarron Gilbert. Provides scheme versatility if I change to a 3-4 later, could also play LE in a 4-3 IMO. Another good value pick in the trenches.

4 - Lawrence Sidbury. Gives me an edge rusher when I run the 4-3, and an OLB for the 3-4, Could be a very poor mans Terrell Suggs. I'll need a pass rush, and once again another pick for the trenches.

5 - Nate Davis. Has fell drasticaly since the end of the season, was a 1st round prospect and due to his size and over documented learning disability, has fell to the 5th. Great value, as a 1st round prospect is available here.

6 - Kevin Ellison. Is very underated, being on the same team as Taylor Mays. Not as athletic, but will get the job done and can start in the NFL IMO.

7 - Rashad Jennings. I'd have taken him in the 4th, great value here, and he provides a good RB for my team without having to spend a high pick on one.

Notable FA Signings:

Graham Gano K/P -
Derek Pegues - FS
Quan Cosby WR
Darry Beckwith MLB
Wopama Osaisai CB
J'Nathan Bullock TE
Chris Baker DT
Drew Willy QB
Emanuel Cook S
Alex Boone OG
Roger Allen OG
Robby Felix C
Terel Byrd DT
Josh Mauga OLB
Antonio Appleby MLB
Maurice Crum OLB

Veteran FA Signings:

QB - Rex Grossman
RB - Selvin Young
RB - Ron Dayne
FB - Lorenzo Neal
WR - Reggie Williams
WR - Matt Jones
WR - Adarius Bowman
WR - Mike Williams (move to TE)
WR Charles Rogers
OT - Kwame Harris
OT - Shane Olivea
OG - Adrian Jones
OG - Pete Kendall
DT - Marcus Tubbs
DT - DeWayne Robertson
DE - Erasmus James
DE - Jason Taylor
OLB - Derrik Brooks
OLB - Marcus Washington
CB - Dre Bly
CB - Patrick Surtain
CB - Sammy Davis
S - Mike Brown

Depth Chart:

QB - Rex Grossman, Nate Davis, Drew Willy

Here's mine:

1) Mark Sanchez. If I'm starting a Franchise, this is the guy I want. He has top notch intangibles and all the necessary tools to succeed. Sanchez has everything it takes to be a Top-10 QB in the NFL.

33) Eben Britton. Very solid LT, I like him a lot. I'm surprised Britton fell to the 2nd round, this is the best guy to build off of right now.

3rd) Jarron Gilbert. Perfect 3-4 DE who has a lot of pass-rushing potential. Gilbert is raw, but he has as much potential as anybody in this Draft.

4th) Sammie Lee Hill. Another guy to bulk up the Front-7. Hill also has a lot of potential and is one of the more underrated prospects in this Draft. He's from a small school, but Hill can clog the middle effectively.

5th) Duke Robinson. Another guy to protect The Franchez. I know Robinson's stock dropped, but he's definitely worth a 5th rounder. Now Sanchez's blind side is completely protected.

6th) Rashad Jennings. Surprised he fell so far, I like him a lot as a power back. Jennings will fit my power system really well.

7th) Mitch King. Another guy who fell too far. A DL of Gilbert, Hill, and King would be very solid. King may not have all the physical tools of some of the top guys, but his motor doesn't stop.

UDFA:

S Emmanuel Cook
K/P Graham Gano
FB Brannan Southerland
DE Zack Potter
RB Jeremiah Johnson
DL Everette Pedescleaux
DL Chris Baker
LB Dannell Ellerbe

I'd need to address the secondary in FA or in the next draft, but building from the ground up and getting that Franchise QB is the way to start. Both the OL and DL would be top-notch right out of the gate.

2010 Draft:

1) Eric Berry. I know it's uncommon for a Safety to go this high, but Berry is a true playmaker and would bring a leader to the secondary.

2) Damian Williams. He might not be there, but the Sanchez-to-Williams combo would be very good. Williams would bring an immediate playmaker.

3) Craig Cooper. Cooper hasn't gotten much hype at Miami, but he is a very solid RB. While a Cooper/Jennings/Johnson trio wouldn't have any #1 backs, they compliment themselves well enough to give me a very good run game.

4) Traye Simmons. I'm weak at CB, so this would be a solid pick here. Simmons has good size and can start pretty quickly.

5) Chris Chancellor. He might not be here at this point, but it'd continue to bulk up my secondary.

6) Marlon Winn. He has great size and can be an immediate backup, with the possibility of being an eventual starter.

7) Sam Shields. I've seen him a lot at Miami and while he's been a dissapointment, it certainly wouldn't be a bad pick here. He has 4.3 seed and decent size, so it's another developmental pick.

Depth Chart:

QB: Mark Sanchez
RB: Rashad Jennings/Jeremiah Johnson/Craig Cooper
FB: Brannan Southerland
WR: Damian Williams/Sam Shields
OL: Eben Britton/Duke Robinson/Marlon Winn
DL: Jarron Gilbert/Mitch King/Sammie Lee Hill/Chris Baker/Zack Potter
LB: Dannell Ellerbe/Jarron Gilbert (tweener)
S: Eric Berry/Emmanuel Cook
CB: Traye Simmons/Chris Chancellor

Obviously there are holes, but this would be a pretty solid team IMO.
