Practically, sure. But Payton has a huge ego and he could make millions as an analyst. He's probably not all that interested in suffering through another 5-6 win season just to build for the future. The fanbase (right or wrong) doesn't have that patience either. Nix will start 12+ games this year I predict. Also to your earlier post about experience. I can see it both ways, but I believe one of the predictors of success in the pros has always been the amount of college experience a QB has. Not a hard and fast rule, but I think his experience can only help him

Zeitler is 34 years old. He's nowhere near a pro-bowl guard any longer. Not sure which rookie prospect you drafted on the o-line who you think is going to be ready this year? We will see if the Thanksgiving Day game was an outlier or a trend. I think we passed you but see where you are coming from as a Lions fan. Our biggest improvement was the removal of Joe Barry. Side note, are you guys planning on extending Goff prior to the season?

I wonder if they tried to work Anderson at IOL positions last year, felt he wasn't able to do it, and like McCormick as a top swing IOL and Anderson swing OT.

I don't see it that way from their college tapes...sure Crosby has then taken advantages of being in the NFL over DIVII...interesting that Booker has said that he learned a lot at the senior bowl and really wished he had that coaching while as Kansas which shows he has way more ceiling to reach.

I love the prospect but it does seem a bit odd to me that we're taking another late-round DE though. I know we cut Toney - which I wouldn't have done but whatever - but we still have Henry, and Andre Jones. I'm sure he was one of the best on their board at the time but I would've rather seen a flyer on another OL, a tall outside CB, another LB, or a smaller shifty RB or WR who could be a returnman.

Some things to watch: Jokic vs KAT (Denver on Offense) - all signs point to Rudy roaming (technically guarding AG) with KAT picking up Jokic. To an extent, this was quite effective at times last year and in the matchups where KAT played in the regular season. Gobert matches up well with AG, given that the latter wants to play around the rim and doesn't have an outside game, which enables Rudy to linger around the paint. The problem with this is obviously KAT's inability to stay out of foul trouble. I suspect we will still see plenty of Jokic vs Gobert out of necessity. MPJ vs Ant/NAW/McDaniels - MPJ was fantastic against the Lakers, and he's going to have a huge role in this series because on the face of it, nobody but McDaniels matches up to stop him. Ant, whilst improved defensively, doesn't have the size to trouble MPJ. Neither does NAW. I imagine McDaniels will be on Murray most of the series, so that will leave plenty of opportunity for MPJ. KAT vs MPJ (Minnesota on Offense) - KAT shot the 3 really well this year, but he could cause real damage being physical around the rim in this series. MPJ has the length to guard him on the perimeter and the speed to stay infront of the drive. But he doesn't have the size to deal with KAT backing him down. Minnesota bench vs Denver bench - As a Nuggets fan, this terrifies me. Minnesota get good minutes out of Naz Reid, Kyle Anderson and NAW/Conley. The Nuggets starters are playing huge minutes because not a single bench played well across the series. Christian Braun didn't make a single 3 point shot in 5 games... They need more. Injuries - KAT coming back from injury, Jamal hobbled, KCP hobbled, Reggie hobbled - it's going to be a war and likely a long series. I imagine it will be a tough watch at times.
