...how this is a topic is well beyond me. Barry has done things that I have never seen another human being do. AP is a fine RB and will take his place amongst the greats, but Barry is literally a once-in-a-lifetime player. _________________

AD hasn't hit his prime yet. When he gest enough where about to run like he did at OU then AD will own. _________________ PSN: Suavesky

He's not even close to that right now. He's played 2 seasons. Years from now, he could be in the GOAT discussion though. |

Not right now, but here is a little note:
Adrian Peterson's first two years compared to Barry Sanders' first two years - Adrian Peterson has more yards.
Adrian Peterson's first two years compared to Marshall Faulk's first two years - Adrian Peterson has more yards.
Adrian Peterson's first two years compared to Marshall Faulk's first two years with the Rams - Adrian Peterson still has more yards.
Adrian Peterson's first two years compared to Emmitt Smith's first two years - Adrian Peterson has more yards.
Adrian Peterson's first two years compared to Walter Payton's first two years - Adrian Peterson has more yards
Adrian Peterson's first two years compared to Jim Brown's first two years - Adrian Peterson has more yards
Adrian Peterson's first two years compared to LaDainian Tomlinson's first two years - Adrian Peterson has more yards.
If Adrian Peterson stays on pace, I believe he'll not only be better than Barry Sanders but will arguably be the greatest RB of all time. Not saying he will be, I just don't think it is out of the range of possibility. _________________

| The 10 people that said AP have lost there mind. AP has a better line, better players around him. Sanders was the only option on the lions, everyone new he was going to get the ball the majority of the game and he still got his. |

You can't say now. AD is just starting.
But like I said, ten years from now I can see it. _________________ PSN: Suavesky

You can't ignore what Adrian Peterson has been doing and how unstoppable he has been since he came in the league, you just can't. Teams aren't gameplaning for Tavaris Jackson and Sidney Rice, they're planning to stop Peterson and the guy got +1,700 on the season. You can't write that off as average. That's the same thing Barry Sanders was doing, even when Herman Moore was with the Lions at the same time, the only thing anybody was trying to stop was Barry and they still couldn't.
You can't ignore the similarities. He's got the 2nd or 3rd-most rushing yards in a player's first two seasons in NFL history. Barry almost had the record before he retired and he wasn't even slowing down in his 30's. The man had everything. Peterson has everything.
...yet, if anybody asked me who the best running back in NFL history was, I always say Barry.
Barry Sanders. _________________

Barry Sanders was more productive in his first two seasons thanks to his receiving stats and having more touchdowns than AP did.

Once again, Marshall Faulk's receiving stats were way better.

Seasons were only 14 games when Walter Payton entered the league.

Same with Payton. Brown played shorter seasons.

Tomlinson had more combined yards thanks to receivinvg stats... |

..... this statement is a failure. Peterson in no way, shape, or form is overrated. Chester Taylor is a good running back but a beast?
2008: 101 carries
399 yards
these are not beast numbers
I hate that our O-line is getting overrated all the time. _________________

Speaking of Sweetness, can we officially say that his 1977 campaign is one of, if not THE most underlooked, overly dominating single season performances ever?
I don't know if people have actually looked at the man's stats, but they are right up there with Jim Brown's '63 season, OJ's '73 season, and Dickerson's '84 campaign. Yet I never, never hear people talk on it. _________________

god i hate when people say this. the year taylor started he put up stats that are basically a clone of what ryan grant did this year.
AD certainly isnt a all time great (lol idk how someone could think that after 2 seasons) but he himself makes our oline look better then it is |
