How do you guys think he is going to help our team?
I really believe he could have a huge impact. If he learns how to block...OMG Double TE sets with D in the back field and Branch and Givens spread wide!!! ......do you think anyone wants a round house kick to the face while we're running that formation?...forget about it.
We will be able to do so many different things with these guys. We could run the ball 3 plays in a row with that seven man front and then have the 2 TE's and 2 WR's all running routes....get what im saying...they will have to crowd the line to stop our run...and then out of no where you have 4 great recivers running around in the secondary.
Watson ran a 4.45 - 4.50 i believe...thats a 6'3 250 pound TE!!! I see us doing great things with him this year.
Best one, two TE punch in the league?!?! _________________

I say if we don't draft a WR at all and don't pick one up in free agency he will play WR. But, Graham and Watson will be very dangerous. However I really never understood that pick (to this day, too). We could have drafted an OG and we wouldn't have that need today. Drafting Watson makes me believe we can do anything by Drafting Charlie Fyre in round 1 or Ciatrick Fason..anything can happen (I guess). _________________

I see what your saying....i was shocked when it happened too!
I think it will turn out to be a great pick. Having two talented TE's is something most teams don't have ( half of them don't have one! ) So i think team will have trouble defending the double TE set like i said. This is the type of thing the pats do...create situations that others teams aren't firmilar with...mark my words, we're going to see the double TE set a whole lot next year. But yeah we could draft anyone. But remember there will always be a purpose behind it, its never random. _________________

Yeah, he will be a great one, he reminds me alot of Shannon Sharpe, he has the size and speed to brun a linebacker
And he and DG....in at the sam time...thats just not fair to linebackers _________________

I think he's going to be a big impact player.
I didnt like the idea at first, but its clear the team is going to use him to create mismatches.
The guy was a hold out for most of camp but was so good he got into our rotation really early int he year. If he hadn't gotten hurt, he could have put up big numbers.
This year, he'll know the offense better, have some NFL experience, ad most importantly, a full training camp under his belt. |

If Ben Watson doesn't get hurt again he's gonna be a monster...it's just plain unfair but thats how the pats work lol. It's gonna be sick. Plain out sick. _________________

Andrew already knows that lol.
He is asking if he was ever hurt in college. We don't want ANOTHER injury prone guy on our team... _________________

He played every game in his final year of college but he had a nagging ankle injury. He just played threw it. I think this ankle was why he sat out this year. Hopefully he'll be 100% come Augest. _________________

If the ankle were the reason he sat out, Id be VERY concerned. Ankle injuries acn be lingering for a long time. I still can't cut like I used to after I broke my ankle 15 months ago.
But Watson's injury had to do with his knee. And I believe that he was healthy by the playoffs, but the team put him on IR when he got hurt because they didnt want to take the chance of him not being healthy. |
