Great job getting Jake back for cheaper, that was a risky move but payed off, got to give you guys credit.

I like what we have done with this team.

I wouldnt trade a 4th round pick for Shaun Smith though, we can get a young DT to develope with this team in the 4th if we need too. Chris Baker DT from Hampton if Im not mistaken comes to mind. He was a transfer from Penn St. He has some character concerns but using a 4th on him is not bad at all, just a suggestion.

I think with any other moves, we will be unable to sign our rookies as we are teetering on having enough cap room to sign our rookies.

I'm starting to think that we should cut Rhys and pick up someone with his salary for 500K. We need some depth at LB now, since we only have 4, I think we need at least 6 on the team.

Or we cut Kasay and pick up 2-3 players with his contract money.

Yeah I say we do that, Lloyd can make FGs and he is 3 for 3 right now. His 3 were a 38,40, and 55 yarder

I watched Rhys at fanfest last year and he was pretty consistant. Has not had a lot of game kicking so not sure how he would do under pressure.

I'm on the fence but due to cap I would say cut Kasey

Hello, Byron Leftwich's agent here wondering if you guys had any interest in him. In the playing time that he got when Big Ben went down for injury, he posted a 104.3 rating in five games that he appeared in. He and I believe that the Panthers would be a great fit for him at this point in his career with the release of Jake Delhomme. If you are interested in him, please pm me an offer.

I think we need to start getting our targets together for the draft. I like the approach of keeping our draft picks, perhaps even trading down when we don't see a player we like at that position. Stockpiling picks to improve depth should be a priority.

As a defensive scout, I'll get to work over the weekend on some players I think we should look out for in the draft. If any of my fellow scouts want to PM or if P11 wants to assign me to anything specific, let me know.

If we all coordinate on scouting, we should be able to put together a pretty comprehensive player list before our first pick on Wednesday.

Great job guys, we made SacKing lock up the old thread... Laughing

I wouldn't mind cutting Kasay, we could sign three players with his cap savings (possibly even get him back). Do we want to go ahead and do that?

I'll look over our roster and see if there are any depth type free agents that look interesting.

P11: You don't have RT Geoff Schwartz, WLB Tim Shaw, or S Joe Fields on the roster. Put Schwartz at RT and move Omiyale to LT, Shaw at WLB, and Fields at SS (move Teal to FS, he is a coverage type). So that brings the roster up to 45 (so 8 more guys).

And we don't have a 7th round pick, we traded it to Miami for McCown, so we have 7 picks (what happened to our fifth?).

So that means we should sign one more free agent (Jason Kyle?). I think we should cut Kasay and try to re-sign him for 500k. That would save us 1 million.
