Depending on how much is guaranteed, this is a very cap friendly signing.
Maybe Dan Snyder is learning his lesson. _________________ If you can read this, thank a teacher.

Can I hand out my first "I told you so" now? Now that Gibbs is broken in to salary cap hell, I think we'll see a much more responsible Skins team. |

Once you get into salary cap hell, There is no choice but to be responsible. _________________ If you can read this, thank a teacher.

I meant that being in the league during the salary cap era is hell, not that the Skins are in a bad cap situation.
We're not too bad off cap wise being close to $10 million under. Not being able to trade Coles (not that I want him to go), and not being able to cut Brunell really sucks though. |

You're right. That is a bad position to be in. Resigning Samuals was a good move for this years cap. How much will it hurt later though?

Good question. I'd like to find a site that has the breakdown of all of these signings.
Assuming there's no balloon payment (for lack of a better term), I'm not sure you can go wrong securing a quality LT like Samuels for the long term. |

It's not for all the Teams but if type in *Team Name* salary cap *Chart/List/Info* most should come up. |

Thanks for the link. That's the best I've seen so far.
Brunell's number doesn't add up though. |

I think we went after patton because we needed someone with the ability to stretch the field b/c we already know we are going after Williams in the draft who will not be a vertical threat unless we are talking about jump balls.
I think I see the master plan Gibbs has been talking about. (I'm just guessing,) but I think we trade rod gardner and our pick to move up and we head into the season with Mike Williams / Santana Moss and Patton/Jacobs and Thrash fighting for the 3rd spot.
Does anyone know why we haven't had any Free Agent DEs come in and visit DC? Are we looking at drafting one in the 3rd round? |
