It's long but I've given it quite a bit of thought:
Cornerback:
Al Harris - Solid. Will be capable for two more years
Ahmad Carroll - Getting better.
Patrick Dendy - Promising
Mike Hawkins - Promising
Jason Horton - Filler
Therrian Fontenot - Filler
Jerron Wishom - Filler
IMHO:
Harris has two years left. Altho I hate to admit it, Carroll could be very good. Dendy/Hawkins have the awful "potential" tag but they also have attitude.
Draft Projection:
Only if a DB has return skills.

Safety:
Nick Collins - Future ProBowler
Mark Roman - Adequate
Marviel Underwood - Still undecided. Purdy dang good Special Teams
Jeremy Thornburg - Special Teamer, nothing more
Todd Franz - Bye
Atari Bigby - Could be a surprise.
IMHO:
Collins will be a perennial Pro Bowler. Underwood hasn't had a chance to show much. Thornburg is a kamikaze on ST but probably not much as a real safety.
Draft Projection:
Michael Huff in the first (after TradeDown) would compliment Collins. Lower rounds Bernard Pollard or Daniel Bullocks might be attractive.

Linebackers:
Nick Barnett - Should have been ROY. Getting better every year. Sometimes too enthusiastic
Na'il Diggs - Very good if he can stay healthy
Robert Thomas - Very good if he can stay healthy
Brady Poppinga - Was just starting to show promise before getting hurt
Kurt Campbell - Have no opinion. Hurt in training camp. Might be SS prospect
Paris Lenon - Adequate backup at all three LB positions
Roy Manning - Has the size but does he have the ability?
John Leake - Who?
IMHO:
Nick Barnett should be in the Pro Bowl every year - if he can control himself a bit. He sometimes overruns plays in his desire to make every play. Diggs and RThomas can be good if healthy. Poppinga has the pash rush skills from OLB, if healthy.
Draft Projection:
2nd tier LB. Carpenter, Greenway, Howard.

Defensive Line:
Aaron Kampman - A must sign. His attitude alone makes him worthwhile
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila - No comment needed
Michael Montgomery - Could be the surprise star of 06
Kenny Peterson - Finally living up to 3rd round status.
Tim McGill - Who?
Grady Jackson - If willing to work for his money, a must sign
Colin Cole - Iowa attitude. Progressed well.
Donnell Washington - Wake Up! This is your career!!!
Corey Williams - Could replace Jackson
Cullen Jenkins - High energy, gives it all he's got.
IMHO:
Other than Washington, this is not a bad group of DLinemen. Toward the end of the 05 season, their play improved quite a bit. Give them all a 2nd year of the Bates/Sanders system and we all could be quite surprised.
Draft Projection:
A Pass Rush DT. Orien Harris or Dusty Dvoracek

Offensive Line:
Mike Flanagan - Has given all he's got to Green Bay. Age/Injuries may have caught up.
Chris White - Maybe too small at 6'2 285 for a Center but new scheme may help
Scott Wells - Is he the Center or the LG of the future?
Adrian Klemm - A Tackle trying to learn Guard? Nice backup to Clifton/Tauscher
William Whitticker - Won the RG job, then kinda lost it. Still has promise
Grey Ruegamer - Attitude player. Can play C/G. Feisty is his best attribute
Junius Coston - Could be the difference maker on the OLine.
IMHO:
Flanagan has given all he's got. Time for a new Center. Scott Wells was a four year starter and I don't think he's really a guard. Chris White is undersized at 285 for center. So, the interior could be LG Coston, C Wells, RG Whitticker.
Draft Projection:
4th or 5th round, a guard to challenge Coston and Whitticker. Maybe Chris Kuper from North Dakota. He knows how to play in the cold.

Wide Receiver:
Javon Walker - Comes back healthy, dynamite. If not... oh oh
Donald Driver - Mr Dependable
Rod Gardner - Rebuilding his career in a new system. Works for some.
Robert Ferguson - Green Bay career probably over.
Terrence Murphy - Could be something special if he's healthy
Antonio Chatman - Gutsy receiver, lousy punt returner
Chad Lucas - Who?
Ruvell Martin - Who?
Vince Butler - Who?
Andrae Thurman - Who?
IMHO:
HEALTH! If Walker and Murphy come back near as good as before injury, no problems.
If not... Shudder.
Gardner could be the key. He could be an elite WR and wants to re-establish his career. Ferguson has had his chances and his days are probably numbered. Chatman makes nice catches but tends to falldown before getting hit.
Draft Projection:
The recovery from injury of Walker and Murphy will be important but a WR will be taken that can return kicks (Brandon Williams?).

Running Back:
Samkon Gado - Deserves shot at #1
Noah Herron - Showed some skill
Ahman Green - Might be worth a minimum contract
Tony Fisher - Wants to be starter, probably gone
Chaz Williams - Who?
Najeh Davenport - He can't be injured every year!
IMHO:
Re-sign Davenport. He's younger and not quite as injured as Green.
Draft Projection:
3rd round CompPick or 4th round add another RB.

Fullback:
William Henderson - He wants to play another year. Let him
Vonta Leach - Hasn't shown anything.
Draft Projection:
Get Henderson's replacement. Matt Bernstein comes to mind.

Tight End:
Bubba Franks - Will never go down as an all time great.
David Martin - Finally stayed healthy for most of a season
Donald Lee - More of a WR/TE, which is good
Tory Humphrey - Who?
IMHO:
Franks is good at blocking and Red Zone. Martin may be gone under the new coaching. Lee is still basically a project.
Draft Projection:
None. One, maybe two UFAs brought in for competition.

As for trying to predict who Green Bay may pick, it is impossible. I have no insight into the minds of 32 GMs in the league especially with 10 new HCs. What I would to see is:
1. Starting LB
2. Starting S
3. Staring G
4. Kick Returner, WR or Db
5. Pass Rusher

Opinions?

Good assessment. Maybe Huff is the way to go. That could be a deadly Secondary.

I totally agree on just about everything you put down there I would like to see the same thing happen. With a starting linebacker, safety, offensive guard, a pass rusher, and a KR. Very good assesment here Very Happy .

Applause

Very good assesment Mgcc1949. Though i do not think that we need a fullback because i think Vonta Leach could be something good. Also i don't think we should re-sign Davenport, sure he may not be injured every year but so far every year he has been. Other then that very good job of assesing the situations.

I like it. Good Read.
CB- We have a bigger at CB and Antonio Cromatie wouldn't be bad in the 2nd.
RB- I still like Calhoun. We might be able to get him in the 3rd.
TE- Good job. I don't know why people have us taking one in the later rounds, when we should be tking Bernstein and Guards or Centers.

Great job overall. I like, I love, I want some more of it!

solid assesment. LB is deep this year so i think that can wait til the second. running back is a need but not as pressing as others so rd4 is a good option.
if we resign kampman DE is not a priority 2nd day for sure. that pretty much leaves S. roman is alright not as bad as everyone thinks. i think huff is the man.

Pretty good except I want a free agent pick up at safety opposite Collins, I am a sucker for speed in the secondary and LB so I want a faster safety than Huff. Maybe Adam Archuleta from the Rams? And also, I really hope the Packers don't trade down because Mario Williams makes my pants tight. (In a completely heterosexual type of way)
