I guess signing Henry is a pre-emptive CB signing. Instead of nailing the big FA CBs that are looking for a ton of money, we went fot a lesser known run-hawk that is young. Signing him this early would likely mean we will get him for less than what would have occured later. Unless - we gave him a very fat pay check that could burn us in the end.
Will we have money left to sign a RT, LB, S, or WR? _________________ There is a hero in us all

i still think we'll bring in ty law... the "agreement" i'm hearing is a 4 year deal worth 12 million... which is an excellent price for any talented young corner... i'm very excited about this pick up... Henry had 10 interceptions his rookie year in 2001, hopefully he can bring that ball hawking ability to Big D.... I would also like to sign a veteran safety still... i think we can afford to go younger at linebacker, but i'm not so sure i want to in the secondary... d. darrius or r. griffith can maybe be possibilties.... as a fan i took major offense to dwight smith and his friend doing what they did to 2 young fans... he wouldve been my top choice, but after that...i dont want to have to root for him.. and i hope he gets no cash... _________________

anthony henry is rated a good starter on espn.com freeagents05, and the analysis says that he is more fit the play saftey, so maybe hes comin in to play FS. _________________

| i would LOVE that, I'm honestly excited and skeptical about Henry, basically because I don't know much about the guy. But if he's the ball-hawk he seems to be...throwing him at FS and then picking up someone like Ken Lucas would be outstanding. This also would throw off other teams thinking we're now out of the running for a starter at CB...making it easier to pick up one of the top guys. |

Henry has ball hawking ability and can tackle but lacks deep speed. But he his 6'1 and 205. He will ad some physicalness to our CB crew _________________

Some info from a brown fan
| Quote: | If this is true, congratulations Cowboys fans. You finally have a decent corner to start opposite Newman.
Can't say I'm not a little disappointed. I was hoping he would want to play for the new coach, but I guess Butch really pissed him off. Just another example of Davis' ineptitude, not locking Henry up long term last year.
Henry has shut down Chad Johnson on several occasions, the Pepto game being just one. He did a good job covering Plaxico Burress for the first 10 seconds, which is about 5 seconds longer than he should have to.
Just a bit of advice for the 'Boys: Get a pass rush. In Anthony Henry's rookie season, Jamir Miller had 15 sacks. Not coincidentally, Henry had 10 interceptions (mostly playing nickel). |
