Do you think he is a good fit a FS for us. He probably wants lots of money. Atleast it gives us another option in FA _________________

Too Old
2004 Scouting Report - Football Scouts Inc.
Name: Ray Buchanan
Position: Cornerback
Grade: 73 | Key
Alert: None
Comment:
Buchanan will move from corner to free safety this year. He has lost a step with age and he lacks ideal size but he uses instincts and experience to help mask his weaknesses. Has good athletic ability, shows good body control and can adjust to the ball while it's in the air. Plays with good intensity and fights for the ball while it's in the air. Has excellent hands, rarely drops passes that should catch and will make some big plays. Is willing in run support and doesn't shy away from contact. Can still play corner if needed and has some versatility. However, Buchanan no longer has the speed to hold up in man coverage at corner and he has had some problems staying healthy. Isn't fast enough to run with upper echelon receivers downfield and doesn't have the second gear to recover once the receiver gets a step. Overall, Buchanan is in the downside of his career and he will give up some big plays but he should provide adequate depth at safety.

Ah, that explains it.
We should probably think about a younger player at this stage, he's 33 years old. |

| John Clayton reported on ESPn that either Smoot or Lucas will come to Dallas and after what happened last year(Cheapness in FA) I think they will just prusue one and ensure that we get him which I hope is Lucas, best quality for the money and young....good athlete too. |
