IMO this is a great move by the Falcons. they get a guy who knows the WCO and knows great left handed mechanics to teach Vick exactly how to be a great QB in this scheme. What are my fellow Falcons fans' thoughts on this?

I would love to see this happen, but I just couldnt understand Steve Young taking a paycut to be the QB coach for the Falcons.
I dont understand why we continue to try to make Vick a pocket passer.... He is so good at avoiding the rush and making great runs... Let him do what he does best!! RUN THE BALL!!

I don't think there's a better person to teach Vick how to be a more effective QB than Steve Young.
If that is true, good for the Falcons. |

Remember the old addage about great players not making great coaches. Don't know if Young would fit into that, but the saying is steeped in truth. Very few of the greats of the game in any sport have had even remotely successful careers coaching.
I'd be leary of Young coming in to coach. |

well, whatever the "myth," at least it's a start. shows that the falcons are commited into vick becoming a better overall quarterback... and so that all the vick-haters can shut the [inappropriate/removed] up already.
i'm all game for it. |

That's because most great players are amazing natural athletes. Steve Yougn was a very good athlete for a QB. btu Vick is a better athlete. I believe Yougn woudl be a great coach for us.

| That'd be great for the Falcons. Now only if Young would take a lesser role. I think he'd probably wanna shine in a Coordinator role. |
