If Coles goes to the Jets, does he give back 5MM or do we eat the whole 9??

If he gives back 5MM and we can use that to sign Moss to a contract, then it makes some sense.

If we eat the whole 9MM, can some PLEASE tell me why we are giving an expensive player away for almost nothing so that another team can enjoy his talents on the cheap. Moss is ok (he has talent, but warts also) but his contract is up after this year. Why wouldn't we just keep Coles this year, and cut him after June 1 next year to soften the blow.

Maybe there is some master plan here, but I just don't see it.....
