Biased/not biased or Kwame Harris/Brown, my argument that we need a top QB is still valid. This is a perfect time to groom a QB - new coach that doesn't need to win right away and a new staff to groom a new NFL QB. The Niners seem to think the same way too:
| Quote: | | The entire coaching and scouting staffs will attend the combine, which begins today. Nolan said quarterback would be a ``main focus'' for the 49ers, who have the top pick in the April 23-24 draft. He said he looked forward to getting a chance to talk to Cal quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Utah's Alex Smith during the combine. |
Again, o-lineman can be had in later parts of the drafts, hell we have the #1 pick in the second round as well, or through FA. And yes, if we do want to win, we have to spend the money on those lineman, don't you agree?
Here's another part to that article:
| Quote: | | Though Nolan has gotten to know about a dozen veterans since his Jan. 19 hiring, he has yet to speak with Rattay. |
Goes to show that Nolan might not be so high on Rattay. If he wanted Rattay to be one of the leaders of the offense, wouldn't you think that he would want to talk to him about next year's plans? |

Not necessarily. It doesn't matter. I actually differ slightly from Chris' assessment. I'd leave Harris at LT (I think he made big strides there last season, especially near the end of the year), and try and trade down and just start Brown at RT, which is where he played in college.
O-linemen can be had later in the draft? So can QBs. They probably say QB is a main focus to get people to calm the hell down about the situation. _________________
