I'm an Eagles fan and you guys draft Buchanon 10 picks before Lito sheppard and back then I was upset.

Has he not developed into a quality corner? Why do you guys want to run him out of town so much?

He's the one who's wanting out.Al Davis and the coaches want to keep him,b/c he's got the physical skills, the potential to be great, and won't cost alot under the cap. They'll only trade him if somebody gives us a really good deal in exchange, but I don't see that happening.
His downside is he sees himself as a star, and he gambles too much, trying for the "big play" pick, and gets burnt way too often b/c of it.If he'd quit gambling, and work harder in the offseason,he'd be a candidate for the probowl. He sucked as a punt returner this past season.
He speaks of himself in the 3rd person, and spent $30,000.00 on a custom made necklace that says,"Showtime".That's a nickname that he gave himself.
There seems to be a "funk" in the organization, and it's causing some of our young players to want to leave, like Buchanon and Porter.Plus, for whatever reason,Al Davis gets too tight fisted when it's time to pay our quality players, when they reach the end of their rookie contracts.
We develop them from being talented rookies,to bonafide quality starters, only to have them leave via free agency,in the prime of their careers.
Call up the Eagles organization and tell him to trade Sheppard in an even swap for Buchannon. We in the Raider Nation wouldn't mind that trade at all. Wink

The problem with the Raiders is that they are always over the cap. If they would be more like the Eagles then they could pony up the big contracts 2 years before these guys hit free agency. That's what the Eagles do. Also they get rid of cancers on the team e.g. John Welborn and probably Freddie Mitchell

Actually Buchanon sounds like a more talented Freddie Mitchell.

As you can see I'm a big Lito Sheppard fan and if Buchanon were here he'd have to settle to be the nickel corner behind Sheppard and Brown anyway.

The Raiders are usually over the cap before the new season,b/c as soon as the superbowl is over, the league uses all of the player's earnings for the coming year as a reference towards the cap,b/c the cap goes up every year.
Al Davis and his crew are masters at getting way under the cap before the deadline,as they did this year, without losing any real talent. They did it this year by getting Kerry Collins to restructure his contract, and we're now under it.We'll be WAY under it after we release many of our unneeded players who only have one year left on their contracts. All teams can do this w/o affecting their cap space b/c of a clause in the contract between the owners and the player's union.
This coming year is going to be the worst in many, many years for the Raiders cap-wise,b/c we're still going to have to count the guaranteed signing bonuses from past deals with Jerry Rice,Tim Brown,Rich Gannon,Lincoln Kennedy, and Rod Woodson against it.
The sh*tty thing is,they're not on the team anymore, and it totals up to around 8 million, unless Gannon's injury forces him to retire. His bonuses will be prorated then.
We could have used that $$ to sign Lamont Jordan, and a quality free agent DB like Ken Lucas,or Fred Smoot, since Charles Woodson will likely not be back with us next year.
When Porter bolts, like I think he will,we'll use that $$ that we were going to give him in a new deal, and use it to sign Jordan. Then I see Al drafting whoever is left between Braylon Edwards and Mike Williams,to replace Porter. The rest of our picks will be spent on defense.
I don't know if you know it or not,but the Eagles are one of the most competitive teams that have alot of room under the cap to work with.If you guys can manage to sign Jerry Porter, and Shaun Alexander, and have a smart draft, you'll be creaming the hell out of teams, all the way to your guaranteed superbowl win over the Steelers.

The Eagles are not going to go after anyone big this year b/c we just franchised Simon that moves us to 12 million under we need to tender Westbrook (1.5) and have 3 million for our draft picks and 2 million for our emergency fund.

That leaves us with 5.5 million to sign all our current free agents. You would think that trotter would be at least 2 million of cap space.

That leave 3 million and they want to extend Michael Lewis. Nate Wayne and Freddie Mitchell will bring another 1 million in cap space.

So that would leave us with 4 million. That's not really enough to get Jerry Porter and Alexander. We do have tons of extra picks this year so we'll have a lot of young depth.

The best thing for the Eagles to do would be to get Mike Williams, but I don't think they have enough ammo to trade up and get him.

Cross your fingers in hoping that the Eagles draft a stud power back like Kay-Jay Harris,to compliment Westbrook, and to give him some rest.
If the power back is effective in yards per carry,it'd make the play action pass VERY effective with T.O.,and another good WR you might also draft,on the field.
With all of them, and McNabb's elusiveness when he scrambles, your eagles won't see alot of 3rd and long situations. They need to draft an ILB as well.
