Will Demps will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn ACL in Sundays loss to the Bengals. With Reed's health still in question, the Ravens are currently set to start Chad Williams and undrafted free agent BJ Ward at the safety spots.

Runningback Musa Smith will also likely be placed on injured reserve after a lack of progress with his broken leg suffered last season. It was thought Smith would be able to return to action this season, however after plaing 1 game, soreness returned in Musa's leg and he has been unable to practice. Rookie fullback Justin Green also suffered a wrist injury against the Bengals and could miss as much as a month of action. Chester Taylor who did not play against the Bengals is also in doubt for this weekend's game against the Texans with an ankle injury. That leaves the Ravens with only 2 healthy backs in Jamal Lewis and Ovie Mughelli.

Keydrick Vincent and Orlando Brown continue to make progress with their respective injuries, but it is too soon to know if either will play against the Texans. If they cant go, Brian Rimpf and Tony Pahsos will continue to fill in for them.

There is also still plenty of doubt surrounding the return of the Ravens best players in Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Reed is still suffering from a high ankle sprain suffered 2 months ago, and Lewis is still hampered by a thigh injury. It was originally thought that Lewis could return for the Texans game, however it appears he hasnt made as much progress as we would have liked.

Chris McAlister also reaggravted a thigh injury against the Bengals which caused him to leave to game early in the 2nd quarter. His status for this Sunday is also in doubt. If McAlister cant play, Deion Sanders and Dale Carter will split time in his place.

The Ravens now have 4 significant players on IR in Dan Cody, Alan Ricard, Musa Smith and Will Demps. The Ravens 2 best players Lewis and Reed have also missed the majority of the season. So far, Ravens starters have missed a combined 29 games.

Ouch.
