At this point, I am confident in Musa Smith that he can be a dependable back, so I would want to let Lewis walk in free agency, resign Taylor and maybe draft a back in the middle of the draft for a little extra insurance.

this option isn't exactly up there, but i think we should resign Taylor, let Lewis walk, and EITHER go after a solid FA RB like Najeh Davenport or Michael Bennett OR draft Bush/Williams/Maroney in the 1st round (if leinart, hawk, and Joe Thomas are off the board) or LenDale White in the second round. i'm not completely sold on Musa Smith yet, he hasn't proven he can stay healthy and i'm still not sure if Chester Taylor can take the pounding running all alone for a whole season.

I guess I would probably classify that choice as the option of drafting a 1st round back and trying to keep Taylor. I would have no problem with brining in Najeh Davenport he is a tough inside runner that could really help us out, but Michael Bennett? Shocked
I want no part in Michael Bennett, talk about always being injured. Hes got no inside power either. When was the last time that dude went over 100 yards in his career? 2002? Najeh Davenport would be nice, but no thanks to Bennett. Just my opinion there. LenDale White in the 2nd round wouldnt be bad either. I dont see us having a chance at Bush though, if we have a chance at Bush, we probably have a chance at Leinart. Im not too fond of Laurence Maroney, but I do like DeAngelo Williams, reminds me a lot of LT with his running style and hes coming from not so main stream school, just like LT came from TCU.

We obviously have some money set aside to pay a RB, so I say go after Edge or Alexander. Let Jamal go and if we fail to get one of the these 2 then make signing Chester a priority. A combination of Chet and Musa should do just fine next year.
