I wouldnt be suprised if Lefors did last till the 7th, infact the only way I see him going in the 5th is if he has a great combine.

Don't be shocked if he doesn't even get drafted.

This is assuming the Chiefs take my advice and make Fred Smoot and Darren Howard their free agency priorities.

1. Shawn Merriman OLB Maryland. He'd be our first pass rush linebacker since DT. He could either go top ten or end of the draft depending on workouts. I think he'd be a major upgrade to our pass rush. So explosive that we could get by depending on Fujita, Mitchell, Maslowski, Beisal, etc. to just worry about stopping the damn run.

2. Marlin Jackson CB Michigan. Great college player. Probably will fall to second round. You have to believe he'd crack our starting lineup in a year or two at either corner or safety.

3. Ronald Bartell CB Howard (end of round, Tait pick). He has about everything you want in a corner except big time college experience. Is supposedly making a name for himself as a sleeper. You can't ever draft too many DB's.

4. Tyler King DE Conneticuit. Pass rushing DE. Another position you can never be too caught up on.

5. Gino Guidugli QB Cincinatti. This guy has monster upside and the kind of guy we'd like to have behind Green for a couple of years to see if he can develop. Detroit's pick.

5. Jordon Beck ILB Cal Poly. We did good with the Buck Buchanon award winner last year. Take another chance and see if we come out with a big time contributer.

5. Frank Gore RB Miami. Don't know that he lasts this long, although with his injuries he might not even get drafted. I believe you always take a running back on day two regardless of whether you need one. Green Bay's pick.

6. Lorenzo Alexander DT California. Probably will go higher, but has next to no speed which might knock him down to here. Run stuffing DT with big school experience.

6. Dan Connoly OL Southeast MO State. Big workouts will send him up higher, but you never know. He could still be around, and might turn into a very good NFL guard. Shields and Roaf aren't going to be around forever, and OL is a position that you are likely to find a late round steal. Green Bay's pick.

7. Atchison Conway S Bowie State. Thing I read says he is a monster hitter that is a good lateround value. Green Bay's pick.

Laughing Yeah...Ruud would look so bad in a Chiefs uniform. While we are at it, I am sure Fabian Washington and Josh Bullocks would be of no help to our defense.

if we get a comp for tait in the 3rd, with the way DE and other LB stock is going up, Ruud could fall that far maybe

Yeah Will Shields is great, but that was from a different era of Nebraska football. Rudd comes from the Zolich era, and name me a player that played under Zolich that has had a strong impact in the NFL. I just believe that for a Middlelinebacker, we would be better off drafting Crowder in round 1 and then go with a CB in round 2 I will bet money that one of the middle of the pack CB's will fall to us wether it is Miller, Browner, Rogers, Jackson, Webster, or McFadden. Our defense would be much better off if the draft were to fall in this fashion. In fact the only CB I would take with the 15th pick in Rolle.
