any of you who have been listening to hacksaw already know this, but if you don't here it is.

1). The top three teams hoping to get brees (in order)
Arizona Cardinals
Detroit Lions-might cut heisman harrington
Green Bay Packer-think favre is going to retire

2). San Diego had the fewest injuries among starter than any other team(only 19 games missed by starters all season)

3). San Diego had the third easiest schedule

I'm pretty sure all of this is true because i doubt they would be lying.

Would rather see Rivers go than Brees, but if it works out that way, then two of the three teams you mentioned are an OK second choice of druthers...Arizona and Detroit. I was born in Michigan at a time when I was listening to Hopalong and Night Train on the radio! Still have a soft spot in my heart for those knuckleheads. Fast forward to more recent history, I spent 12 years in the zone and was there b4 the Cardinals and the Diamondbacks. Still have a soft spot in my heart for those knuckleheads. Now that I've been in San Diego for the better part of a decade, I've beem bitten by the Bolt. Thank God for schizophrenia!

Any word on specifics of what we would get from Hacksaw? Their first plus some goodies?

Unless something has changed, all the projections of Rivers getting traded would be erroneous. If he is traded before his roster bonus in March, SD would take a $6 million cap hit and still not even have him on the roster.

1) word from the practice field is that (other than butterflies), Rivers makes all the throws and more than Brees
2) to franchise tag and trade Brees would bring NO cap hit and would pull us an additional #1 from someone
3) Brees is at the absolute HEIGHT of his value
4) Look at the sitch with Kitna/Palmer-yes Palmer struggled to start, but by the end of the year, he was on fire.

Franchise and trade Brees. Rivers is a winner and the players we can add will totally solidify this team. We would either have 3 #1's this year, or 2 #1s this year and 2 #1's next year, probably including a very high one from whoever traded for Brees. Stockpile, stockpile, stockpile. We CAN be the next Patriots...

k first of all... how is it that the chargers had the 3rd weakest schedule? yess in hindsight it was weak... but lets look at this before the season.... tenn had the co-mvp, carolina won the nfc, jets have pennington considered the most efficient qb, jack had a tough d, kc was on fire last yr, denver is always tough, atlanta has mike vick, tampa's d is always tough and finally need i give a justification for indy?.... the only give me games on last yr's schedule when we got 'em was probably new orleans and cleveland.... outside of those 2 the rest were prejected as tough games..... so ya'll shouldn't think that chargers ran through a soft schedule.... right now u look at next yr's schedule n like dallas may keep on sucking, buffalo may not be on fire anymore, miami still will suck, giants may still suck, and who knows bout the steelers.... maybe they loose the stars like carolina and suck next yr...

He's weird that people say we have a weak schedule. How was our schedule weak? When most people predicated we'd win only 3 games maybe even less. Most people thought we'd be SF and drafting high again. Now, I don't see how that is considered weak. We had a lot of teams that should have been better than they were. So, don't say that our schedule is weak. Can anyone actually believe that this team is good? People this was not an easy schedule. I agree with supra. All Chargers fans have to say to themselves what did we expect out of this season before it started. I bet many Charger fans didn't think we'd win as many as we did. Don't forget that we could have won 3 games that we lost. The Jets game during the regular season was the one game that we just lost. All other games we were in it and because of penalties, conservative coaching, time clock management and a few other errors we could have won those.

Next year our schedule will be really tough. But, they said that about this year too. I'll have faith in the Chargers. BTW, how much do season tickets generally go for?

Well i read that arizona wasn't ineterested in him because of questions about his arm strength, Detroit said that they had no intention of cutting Harrington, and Green Bay know that Favre will probably play at least one more year, so if I were them, I would probably take Alex Smith in the first round. Brees said that he wants a long term committment, The chargers can't give him that, so I really don't know what will happen, but in my opinion he will most likely end up in:
San Fran-they can draft someone else with the top pick.
Tenn-if McNair retires.
Dallas-Parcells wants to win now.

season tickets usually go for around 600-800....

but i like the mini packs better cause u can sell the raider tickets n the entire 4 game package is around 250

ya the only trade i see as a real option is that dallas trade... cause the others its hard to see they would give up such a high draft pick for drew... the only way we can get a top 10 pick for him is if we trade him for a future 1st rounder n open they suck n get their 2006 1st rounder

hey don't be arguing with me about sos. The sos is based on the record of the teams that you played at the END of the season. The third weakest sos is not my opinion but fact.

How is Rivers a winner? He hasn't even started a game in the NFL yet. Don't get ahead of yourself sonny boy.

I'm confused. Where did you get your numbers from? Here are the numbers I found along with an explanation of what they mean:

Traditional SOS - Based on Opponents Wins & Losses
By Jason Podgorny

Key:
Winning - Number of games vs opponents over .500
Playoff - Number of games vs opponents in playoffs in 2003
Wins 2004 - Number of Wins Opponents in 2004 had
Losses 2004 - Number of Losses Opponents in 2004 had
Win Pct 2004 - Winning Percentage Of 2004 Opponents
Win Pct 2003 - Winning Percentage Of 2003 Opponents
Diff - Difference Between Win Percentages of 2004 and 2003 Opponents

This table is presorted by the Win Pct 2004 column. The numbers in this column represent the winning percentage of opponents faced in the 2004 season. The higher the number, the more difficult the schedule.

Notice the NY Giants and Houston will face an easier schedule this season compared to '03, while St Louis, Kansas City, and Cincinnati will have a more difficult time.
