My bad VD, I got cocky, and couldn't resist it.
On to Packer news, I LOVE BRETT FAVRE, and hope he plays forever. _________________

the Packers do have an impressive group of receivers, you do have to admit that. _________________

| Even though Al Harris was outplayed by Plaxico Burress in the NFC Championship game, he still owns all our receivers in the NFC North. As long as Favre plays the Lions will lose. I hate to say it, but we matched up awfull against them. We couldn't even score on their reserves, and Pack starting offense scored at will. |

*The Packers have released Bubba Franks.
*The Packers may re-sign Franks if he comes back for a lower price.
*Alge Crumpler has said that the Packers have shown interest.
*Jermichael Finley is a prospect that the Packers are interested in.
*Both Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson have assured their fans that they will be active in free agency. |

Packers secretly acquired another first round pick, as did the Vikings as well...
Packers made Corey Williams their franchise player, but could look to trade him if the conditions are right. Packers are deep at DT, but depending on Johnny Jolly's health and availability at the beginning of training camp, the Pack might decide to just sign him to the 1 year franchise tender or try to work out a long term deal. _________________

any sense of how Williams feels about that?
i just wonder if players like being coveted/respected by their parent team, not used as trade bait.
i can't see us taking him, the proliferation of Williams's is just too much to keep track of. _________________

Well Williams said a number of times that he'd love to stay in Green Bay and would be open to stay for less money, but with the tagging of Albert Haynesworth, he would have been the top DT on the market and like commanded quite a payday.
I think Corey would be excellent in Minnesota though...put him in on obvious passing downs, keeping him fresh and having 2 excellent pass rushing tackles in Corey and Kevin. _________________

Whatever came up of that DT Harell, your 1st rounder last year? Did he get some good PT? _________________

i really hope these three threads we've started for NFC North fans to come in and update us are used for good, clean football talk. not rivalry based jabs and such.
at least, that's my hope on the issue. _________________

I don't know if you were addressing me or the group in general (or both), but I genuinely want to know of Harell. Besides maybe 7 or so rookies, I don't know how everybody fared. _________________

The packers are highly interested in developing the league wide success story known as the two running back scheme.

I could see them drafting Reshard Mendenhall or Felix Jones in the first. Or if by some ungodly chance Jonathan Stewart falls, they would take him too. _________________
