Besides the fact that I need to pimp a Sioux, Weston reminds me very much of Wes Welker in terms of physical attributes, attitude, and gameplay. He's not exceptionally fast but he is extremely quick and has soft hands. He is an extremely hard worker. He may need to gain 10 or so pounds but I think he can survive on the NFL level.

He'll be lucky if he is drafted. NFL Draft Scout has him somewhere in the 70s.

He is 5'8" and 175 lbs. and only runs a 4.47 forty? Man, if your going to be that small you better be in the low 30's. I don't care how many records you have broken, he is just way too small. Hell, I am 14, and I am 5'9" 160 lbs, almost bigger that him.

Wes Welker ran a 4.60. For both of them it's not about top end speed but about acceleration and ability to change directions. He's the same height and 10 pounds lighter. Marvin Harrison was drafted at 175 pounds and is taller.

This guy has no explosiveness..He has no next gear that allows him to separate. He looks like he's 5'7" 160 lbs.

I'm not doubting him because he's from NDU...I've ranked I-AA players near or at the top more than enough...But the guy just doesn't have it. Welker has an uncanny ability to split space between himself and defenders...You could see it in college, and you can definitely see it now..

Actually there were several teams that stopped in to look at him. Including: Green Bay, Jacksonville, New York Giants, Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, New England, Buffalo, Washington, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Kansas City, Miami and Tennessee. All of them have said he is draftable.

As to where, I would have to say he is a late rounder.

I can guarantee you that the midget won't be drafted. He isn't even that fast.

And what level of competition does he play at in North Dakota, Manitoba Tech?

Maybe he has a future career in dwarf wrestling, but it won't be the NFL. Maybe he can play for the Blue Bombers.

FYI, UND was the 9th ranked Division-II school and will be moving to Division I within the next year or two. So I would say the level of competitition is as high as any Division II player.

I'll make a sig bet with you right now that he makes it into camp with an NFL team.

Man... Wes Welker is some kind of popular after one season in NE.

Every medium-sized receiver with okay speed is being compared to the man known as Wes. Laughing

I've never heard of Dressler, though.

That is not surprising. UND is more known for it's college hockey program having won two Frozen Fours since 1997 and playing in the best college hockey arena in the country.

Whoopee do. My grandmother could make it into camp to if she wanted. It's not that hard to get to a football camp.

Division II. I am even more impressed. We all know Division II can give USC a run for their money.

You said he had no future in the NFL. If he makes it into a camp that means he'll have made it into the NFL and you will be wrong. If you aren't willing to back up what you say then don't say it.

And I guess you are of the opinion that only "big name" schools can put out NFL talent. I guess we should tell Jerry Rice that he shouldn't have bothered to go try out for the NFL. After all, he only went to Mississippi Valley State.

No if you make it into camp, you don't make it into the NFL. You have to be on a regular season or postseason roster to count. I know a few people who got invited to an NFL camp. You are basically there to be a human punishment dummy for the veterans or you are used for a scout team. You don't make hardly any money. It like a single A baseball player who gets an invitation to spring training, but never makes the 25 man roster. No one cares.

Jerry Rice didn't try out for the NFL. He was drafted mid first round. All of the scouts knew about him and he played at a well regarded Division I -AA conference.

Your boy is a midget who has decent speed. He has very little chance of making it. He does have a future in Winnipeg perhaps.
