I would be surprised if he didn't go pro. He had a pretty decent year. Of course, the whole barfight arrest will hang over him when he does personnel interviews.

Apparently he's going to go pro. Bad move on his part IMO. He should have spent another year to polish his game and get stronger in college. This past year he either did one of the two: a) make a great, athletic play, or b) make a critical mistake. Combined with his off-the-field issues, unless he has incredible workouts he'll be the 4th-6th WILL taken behind some or all of the following: Rivers, Adibi, Wheeler, Mayo, and Highsmith.

When you're a high profile athlete, or high profile anything for that matter, you can't afford to do things 'anyone' would have done. One of the prices of fame and fortune is that you can't do things like get goaded into barfights and illegal activities without serious consequences. It might not have been as big of a deal several years ago, but Roger Goodell has made it a big deal. Teams will draft accordingly. Whether or not Hayes was right or wrong in intention, this will hurt his draft stock.

Hes going....espn confirmed it.

I think he made a mistake. I think he should've stayed for his senior year, added some weight, then he would have been a real high pick.

Hes pretty undersized to be a nfl backer, he'll probably get switched to saftey, ala michael boulware.

He was the starting linebacker for Florida State, one of the most recognizable D-1A programs in the nation. How do you define 'high profile'?

Mistake on his part. He's too small, can't shed a block, and dissapears in big games.
