He's putting on a show against Ball State today. 35 Attempts, 280 yards(8.0 avg), 4 TDs so far. Yeah it's Ball State, but it's still really impressive. Mike Teel is living off of the play action.
Where does he go if he declares? Do you guys think going back would actually hurt him more?
If he goes back he could probably break some records as well as be a huge part of an offense with a couple of other NFL prospects. He would however add a lot more mileage and Rutgers is losing three lineman who are all going to be in NFL training camps this summer.
He reminds me a lot of Curtis Martin, and he's also similar to fellow prospect Mike Hart. I don't think he's going to be a first rounder because there are other prospects who are much more athletically superior to him, but he's going to be an absolute steal for whichever team lands him after the first.
RS EDIT: Ray Rice will enter the NFL Draft. _________________

hes having a great game, and showed his speed on that 90 yard TD run, he just wore Ball St defense down and Teel is having a great game as well _________________

I love Rice as a college RB, but it's hard to get over his stature. If he gets his weight up in the 210's though, and he times well, he defintely has a shot at the 2nd round.
He has solid straight line speed (my guess would be 4.48-4.52), a great burst, great vision, breaks arm tackles, and is a one cut runner. All of those things add up to an NFL RB.
He's pretty low on my list of RB prospects though, if I was him I'd definitely stay until next year. It's not his fault, it's just that I find this RB class very talented and very deep. _________________ I'm going to stop talking about how good I am.
I need a new sig too. An Adrian Peterson/Rashard Mendenhall sig. |

I wouldn't be surprised if he completely outplays every other back in the draft...The guy is almost untouchable at times...and he has THE nastiest stiff arm ever. He has the Adrian Peterson-like mentality when he runs...and his size being a question is a joke, he's bigger than Curtis Martin and Emmitt Smith..and just as fast. _________________

He is a player that could really outplay his draft position. I think he ends up going late 2nd round if he does declare because there seems to be soo many talented backs declaring. He sure can carry the load.

How would you compare him to Yvenson Bernard? They both seem like smaller guys who play with a tough running style. _________________

Bernard runs like a 12 year old girl compared to Ray Rice. _________________

He'll fall into the ever-growing 2nd-3rd round RB mix with Mike Hart and Chris Johnson. _________________ My teams:

mid round pick. too small and slow. nfl yards are just going to be too tough and doesnt have the body to handle the pounding. backup/special teams. not a #1 tb regardless of what his #s are. you could put him in a few games and he may do ok but over the long haul no chance to be a stud tb

Ray Rice has so much heart its rediculous. He brought a football program to new heights and got them into a BCS bowl game last year. This year he was alot more quiet.
He breaks tackles, he has great vision, can run between the tackles and carry the load? Whats not to like about Rice?
I mean the fact that his draft position this year is gonna be 2nd round or late 2nd round is just dumb. This guy should be a 1st round pick. Hes the kind of player you build a franchise around. I would compare his running style to Emmit Smith. Low to the ground, breaks tackles and good vision. If he gets behind a good oline, watch out. I love me some Ray Rice _________________

you can have as much heart as you want but it doesnt change the reality. his talent level is far below the elite nfl tbs. heart is just not enough these days. you have to have heart and talent. rice is just too limited

Emmit Smith and Walter Payton were never the most talented. But they had heart. Two perfect examples. _________________

to say those guys didnt have talent is ludicrous. in fact they have special abilities that few have. give me an nfl comparison then. what stud tb is in the mold of ray rice? how does his game translate to success in the league now. he has heart and all this and saying this guy wasnt that good who is an nfl hall of famer is not an evaluation of his talent level
