Look at the past defensive 1st and 2nd rounders since Martz has been HC.
2000
Jacoby Shepard (2)
2001
Damione Lewis (1)
Ryan Pickett (1)
Adam Archuleta (1)
Tommy Polley (2)
2002
Robert Thomas (1)
Travis Fisher (2)
2003
Jimmy Kennedy (1)
Pisa Tinoisamoa (2)
Only 2 of those have turned into solid starters (Archuleta and Tinoisamoa) while Kennedy shown some promise at the end of the season. I pray to God that they have better judge of talent this year when drafting defensive players. |

You just realized this? He can not draft offense either. He got lucky with Jackson. There is a great article out there on Martz's draft picks. He only has 9 players on the roster left since he has taken over the drafts. That is pathetic and the main reason why this team is in trouble. They need to get a GM this year but knowing this management they wont. |

Kevin Curtis was a steal in the 3rd/4th(can't remember) round a couple years ago. But, you're right, other than him and Steven Jackson, Martz really can't draft offense that well either.
BTW, if you could get me a link to that article, i'd love to read it. |

I do not remember what the day was but it was in stltoday.com. It goes over the horrible drafts that Martz has made and it states that since he has taken over only 9 of his top 5 rounds are STL Rams anymore. This organization is just awful from the top down. Yes I know the record is better than what I am saying but there is no way this guy should be in charge. |

| Martz is a OC and thats all there is to it. He an amazing offenseive drafter as we saw in steven jackson and curtis in the 3rd a couple years ago. However, he is so dumb on the defensive side we either need a new DC or a new head coach who is defensive minded cuz the offense will always be there and be damn good |

They need to hire a GM who has the controls period. Get him out of that role and maybe he will get better. But I totally agree with you he is an OC not a head coach. |

| Whether Martz can draft defense isnt even a quesitons hes obviosuly horrible. THe problem is hes gunna have to give it antoher shot this year because unless brown or barron fall to us its going to have to be defense in 1st. |
