Bentley has yet to practice, but hasn't given up on playing this season and had hoped to begin practicing with the team by the end of August.

"He's disappointed, but because we sat down and we talked about it he's been in my office every week he appreciates my concern," coach Romeo Crennel said. "I've told him all along I want the best for him."

Smart move, the Browns aren't going anywhere this season, and gives Bentley more time to rest from his serious knee injury.

I'm not even sure they should use him this season. The fact that he has made this sort of comeback is miraculous, and they should be very cautious with him.

Well, in the best interest of the team AND his career they should keep him out the entire year just so he can get healthy to help with this line in the future.

The good news is Bentley is relatively young and like Iggles said it's probably best to be overly cautious and not risk him getting hurt again. Let him sit for a little while longer. Cleveland appears to be building a pretty nice team but they won't be ready to compete the AFC this year, they are an up-and-coming team.

I really wanna see him make a full recovery and this is the smart move. Kinda sad to see him miss more time, but unless the browns put in Quinn they aren't making the playoffs this season Wink Very Happy

Exactly, no reason to rush it, not like the Browns were a playoff team this year anyways Smile get him ready for next season.

I agree with you, they should not try to rush him back... But I really feel bad for the guy, I hope he can still come back after the 6 months.

I hope that he can make a full recovery and play in 2008. The best thing to do is keep him off the field this season as a precautionary measure. Bentley is too talented to rush back and risk a potentially permanent injury. The one he sustained was bad enough, so I'd keep him on the shelf until he's 100%.
