i'm a lifetime chargers fan, but grew up in new jersey and i have lived in maine for the last few years. everyone in maine is a pats fan. you get all the patriots info you can possibly handle up there. that's where i get the contract info from...after they won their first super bowl they just blew up the talk radio shows up there with pats info. when SD released harrison, that was the initial talk...they wanted him, but they wanted to see him get in shape first. it was all over the place up there, arguing over whether they were signing a has-been or an all pro.
as far as the weight thing, i remember him being listed at 230 late in his charger career, he's now listed at 216 by the pats.
as far as tackling goes, his stats can be found anywhere...in his first five full seasons as a starter he averaged 8 tackles per game, in his last season it was down to a little over 6 per game. his two seasons with the pats, he's back over 8 per game.
believe me, i know the way charger fans remember rodney harrison. he was my favorite player for years. i loved watching him lay those huge hits on guys coming over the middle, stuffing the run and just intimidating everyone coming into his area, but it was time for him to go. they made the right choice. they weren't going anywhere with him, and he certainly wasn't going anywhere with them. it's just a shame we couldn't get anything from losing him.

Gospel...We were making some bad choices back then that put us in a position where all we had was payroll...no team, just a bunch of payroll. There were a few thing done that weren't fan popular...Rodney, Junior, but needed to be done for all parties involved. Now, Rodney's got rings and we made the playoffs with a bright future and plenty of cap room. Excuse me while I put on my shades.
