I do like the cowboys upgrades on defense and I think next year or late this season they'll repeat the benefits. But the first game of the season against a team with loads of potential and probably the best all-round athlete in the league (LT). I think LT couple with Gates and Brees pose to much for the cowboys. 31-20

chargers easily. the only reason there are 12 votes for dallas is because there are so many cowboy homers on this site _________________

no the reason there are 12 votes for Dallas is because there is a good chance we can win this one. I'll say this again....IF THE 3-4 ISN'T WORKING EARLY IN THE GAME, WE'LL PLAY THE 4-3 the rest of it. In the 4-3 defense we'll only have 2 rookies starting and they've both obviously played the 4-3. We have upgraded our d-line, and secondary through FA, and the rookies will no how to run after the QB. Does everyone forget that we would have beaten the steelers last year if not for a late fumble by Vinny? I voted Dallas because i truely believe we'll win this one. We had a top 10 run defense last year that has only been upgraded with Ferguson and Roy playing his natural position so we'll be able to at least contain LT, and our secondary is leagues ahead of last years version. In a 4-3 defense we'll be very formidable at the beginning of the year. |

I think you guys will go 8-8 this year and have a 30% chance of beating us. I like your team, but you have too many what ifs, I believe you could either go 9-7 or 10-6 or go 7-9 or 6-10. If you guys had more assurity (for instance the qb position) I would be more worried about this game.

i agree. We are good against the run and out 2ndary has improved with the additions of Henry and Glenn and plus, Roy is playing his natural position. But im a lil skeptical b/c the Cowboys don do to well in season openers (recently that is) and the Chargers were a playoff team last year. This should be a really interesting game, but since im a Cowboys fan, i gotta support my team. I say Cowboys will win this one by 3 (Cundiff comes through in the clutch). _________________

If the game were in Dallas, then I would think about it a little harder, but SD was one of the best teams last season. No reason to think they won't be that good again. We have a new scheme on D and a ton of new players to the team that will need time to get comfortable. We could easily win, but I am still picking SD by 10 _________________

I think Drew Brees will do well in this game, and Landanian Tomlinson will run all over this defense. I think Drew Bledsoe will fall on his face in this game, and he'll throw 1-2 or two picks. I think the game will end up something like 24-10...Chargers

Bears fan here. I like the Chargers in a close game, 24-21. I don't think the Chargers will match last years record but they will be a tough team this year nonetheless. I think Bledsoe has seen his better days and that will hurt the Cowboys throughout the year. They did have a nice off season so they should contend for a wild card. My big thing in this game is L.T. IMO he is the best back in football since Walter Payton. Barring injury I think LT gets the all time yardage record from Emmitt.

The Chargers return all 22 starters from last years team. We were top 3 in run defense last year, thus that will help stop JJ and I would not mind having Drew Bledsoe try and beat us through the air. Our Pressure on the QB should increase with the addition of Castillo and a year under Olshanskys' belt. They will tie up the O-Line enough to let Foley and Phillips take aim at Bledsoe (who we all know is not that mobile). Our offense will get better I believe as McCardell will have a good feel for the offense and Caldwell will be back healthy. We will have 4 players catching the ball over 6'4" in Gates, Osgood, Jackson, and Floyd (who I believe will make the team over Ruvell Martin). Not to mention LT. I like the additions in the offseason that the Boys' had but it will not be enough to stop us.
