Quote:
INDIANAPOLIS To the surprise of no one, running back Edgerrin James was a no-show as the Indianapolis Colts opened their mandatory three-day minicamp Friday.

"We'd love for him to be here," quarterback Peyton Manning said. "But the guys who are here are getting great work. That's what this time is for."

James also skipped the first week of the team's voluntary summer school.

The Colts designated James their "franchise" player in February, and their career rushing leader signed the one-year, $8.1 million tender in March. Since he's under contract, he's subject to a $1,000 fine each day he misses a mandatory team function.

You're right and I think Dungy will fine him, and James will have expected it, will pay it and not care because its like a penny to him.

Haha yeah, right. If Bennett could stay healthy for you guys I think he'd be a pretty good starter.

^ but it seems like he is always a hangnail away from the DL. I still wouldn't mind seeing Edge rockin purple and gold

I'm sure a lot of teams feel the same way, but I don't see it happening. He'd take up too much of your cap anyway.
