So they trade a Pro Bowl 5th round Special Teamer with two years on his rookie contract against a 4th round Special Teamer with one year left? Weird.

I like the trade. Pierre-Louis is faster(4.51/40) and stronger (28 bp) than Alexander (4.59/40, 17bp). Verticle is 39"/PL and 34.5"/Alexander. All other combine measurement categories, Pierre-Louis beats Alexander.

Additionally, I can't find any medical issues on PL. Alexander has had "stinger" issues and neck surgery.

They are both undersized, though KPL is shorter and a bit thicker. My guess is that the Chiefs think KPL can make the ILB rotation while Alexander was in danger of not making the team at all.

Guess they feel like they've seen enough to know dj wouldn't contribute on defense and could replace his special teams production. Have to think our 5th round pick eligwe factored into this decision as well.

KPL is an interesting human being.

On the field he's a guy with all the athleticism in the world but plays pretty soft and struggles to get off blockers. I don't know much about Alexander, but if we're getting an upgrade for our coverage unit it's well worth it on our end. KPL provides a quality coverage LB for TEs.

This is significant. We don't have healthy ILB's who can cover TE's. Our secondary would benefit from this I believe. We've been continually punished in the middle of the field for lack of good coverage.

Agreed. This was DJ's strength in his younger, faster days. Not so much now.

Now if we only had a good TE for him to practice against. Cool

agree. Having the prerequiste athletic ability is the first step tho.
DJA isn't as physical and it showed when on the field, especially at ILB. Safety play was poor too. Only thing he was good for was special teams according to most here.

Safety play? We have one of/if not the best safety play in the league?

Totally agree about DJA though, I have the same concerns with Ramik at this point. Will be interesting to see how the ILB spots shake out.

Dude, he got traded to the other one of/if not the best safety play team. It's not really a step down.

Please read the bold? I'm talking about DJA here. Of course I love Berry. Not especially thrilled otherwise.

What part of my reply to exactly that point did you not understand?
