Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet

"Details on #Falcons RB Devonta Freeman's new 5-year, $41.25M extension: He gets $22M in guarantees. $26M over three years. $15M to sign"

His year this year is 1 year 2.25 million

So the total of his new contract life is 6 yrs 43.50 mil

about 7.25 mil a year thats some nice change for a RB but not to horrible he means alot to this offense and is the only RB in the nfl with 1000+ rushing and 10+ TD's over the last 2 years both years along with being a really good receiving back and a above avg pass blocker usually.

Overpay imo. I like the guy and I want to say this is a good contract but he's just not good enough to warrant it. He want to be the bellcow but every year it seems like he wears down at the end of the season. I just hope we can retain Coleman. His skillset will be harder to replace then Freeman's.

I don't think its really an overpay. I don't think he is some all-world RB but he is worth that to the Falcons offense

Me and you for sure think 100% differently when it comes to Freeman i consider him a top 5 to 7 back in the nfl and think he would be a very good full time back even if coleman wasn't here to share the load. I like Freeman better than Coleman. But i like Coleman as well he just doesn't have the vision, agility, or power that Freeman does. Coleman does have better long speed though if he can make it to the open field.
