This.

Both QBs will be first ballot HOF selections, still have to go with Ben if we're talking about a one game situation when conditions aren't perfect. It's not surprising some underrate Roethlisberger. His playing style isn't that fun to watch when compared to other elite QBs, some folks already convicted him for the Georgia incident, despite the fact no charges were even submitted, and individual numbers are sometimes viewed as the Holy Grail of player evaluation.

To me it depends on the circumstances:

*Do I have a guarantee that both are fully healthy? Ben is injury prone, so if there's a chance he could get hurt, I'm taking Drew.

*What is the weather like/time of year? Ben can play in a hurricane, but if we're playing in a dome, Brees is hard to beat.

*Are both in their primes or RIGHT NOW?

The answer is simply Drew Brees. Nothing against Ben he's been a great QB for the Steelers, but Drew Brees will go down as a top 10 QB ever when he retires.

I have lots of respect for Big Ben...but Brees is one of the great QBs in NFL history. That's not to diminish the accomplishments of Big Ben.

We have to remember Brees has escaped many injuries in New Orleans because of their offensive system. Brees is smaller, and not as physically strong as Ben. Usually the ball is released fairly quickly, and that's not the system Ben has played with in the majority of his career. Extending plays, and taking more hits and sacks has been more common for # 7. Ben has won plenty of games while injured, and has definitely lost a few when he shouldn't have been playing.

I'd have to take Ben. He has better presence in the pocket and can extend the play. Brees is the more exploitable QB when conditions aren't perfect for him and he gets pressure in his face. He's the one who's more likely to throw a ill timed INT.

Ben for me. The guy manufactures weapons. Holmes? Burress? Wallace? Any of these guys do anything worth mentioning once they left Ben? Bryant is the most talented in a long string of players Ben has gotten big money deals for. I'm not saying Bryant isn't the real deal but I'd be very skeptical outside of Pittsburgh to pay for his past performance.

Are you implying that Brees had better weapons than Ben ? Cause if there's one elite QB in this league that never had a star receiver, it's Brees.

I can't believe this is a debate. The real question is..... Is Big Ben a top 5 Qb. This dude as had the most talented offense in NFL for a few years now and they only look slightly above average. He not even then best or second best player on his on offense.

Next subject please... Breed with the Steelers team would be super contenders every year and they would be the team to try to beat in the AFC.

I don't always agree with you but you are spot on here. Ben isn't even the MVP of his own team. The Steelers FO is amazingly good at consistently drafting WR and RB talent. Now before anybody says that Ben makes these guys look good. Look at Emmanuel Sanders before and after Big Ben. He couldn't crack 740 yards with the Steelers then explodes for three straight 1000 yard seasons with Manning and even Trevor Siemian in Denver.

Brees has been surrounded by NFL Talent his entire career. It's been a question of sustainable talent year over year but you can't look at Henderson, Colstom, Meachem, Moore, Conway, Gates and Graham and say that Bree's hasn't had weapons. He also had the most dominant run game in the NFL his first couple seasons and never looked better then mediocre. Brees has a bunch of pretty stats playing indoors, on a pass happy team that traditionally doesn't even field a defense. If I'm starting a new team and Ben and Brees are both rookies coming out, I'm taking Ben.

Plaxico was pretty good for the Giants until he shot himself. Don't know what you're talking about.

All of the guys you listed outside of Jimmy Graham did absolutely nothing without Brees...
