So the US advanced to the semifinals of the Gold Cup with a 2-0 win over El Salvador. The talking point of the match was El Salvador defender Henry Romero channeling his inner Luis Suarez and taking a bite out of Jozy Altidore's shoulder. Jozy had this to say on the incident:

Quote:
“My girl’s mad at me,” the American forward said. “She’s mad at me. She’s mad at Romero, ‘cause she’s like: ‘Only I can bite you, only I can grab your nipples.’”

Well said Jozy, well said.

Did I miss something?

Yeah man. They're rolling out a new FF. You can sign up for the "beta" in the feedback forum.

Well hell yeah, that seems quite overdue.

Still the best non-Pulisic attacker we have an it isn't close. An absolute legend.

Always shows up for big games.

Great games from many players, quite honestly. The US completely dominated the game aside from one brief moment (and where you could argue the JAM player pulled Morris). MB90 and Nagbe are so impressive right now moving the ball and transitioning it front back to front. Villafana did a great job providing an overlapping outlet. Jozy's play (not only his FK goal) was impressive. Matt Besler has been lockdown for much of the tournament, he's CB #3 for me. Graham Zusi is still a disaster at RB though.

Bradley's partner is still a ? since Acosta didn't really shine, but I think arenas depth chart going forward would be something like

Jozy-Wood..... (Dempsey, Morris, Dwyer, Agudelo)
Fabian-Bradley-Nagbe-Pulisic...... (Acosta, Bedoya, Arriola, McCarty, Rowe, Lletget, Jones)
Villafana-Brooks-Cameron-Yedlin. (Gonzalez, Besler, ? ?)
Howard

Haven't really been convinced by any of the other fullbacks yet

If Danny Williams has a full year in the PL and plays for Huddersfield it'd be hard to see him not getting a legitimate look at that #8 partner for Bradley.

Hyndman and Saif could break thru also. Sure there's some other breakout candidates I'm forgetting

I could see Saief because of the lack of wingers and his flexibility. I just don't think Hyndman is gonna get a lot of playing time this year.
