I strongly suspect that Cook will very soon be too important to be put at returner.

And we have other options as well.

Agreed. That's a pipe dream for Priefer.

Anyone remember Adrian Peterson returning kicks as a rookie? I remember it and bet there is at least one of those kick returns he would just as soon I forget about.

The Vikings signed another RB that can be the Chester Taylor that keeps Cook as an option to return kicks for a few games.

If Rodney Adams makes the team, I think he'd be capable as a KR. I'd rather keep Cook fresh and focused on one position if he's going to be the primary ball carrier, which I think will happen fairly early into the season. I'm not confident in Murray being much of a factor as a runner.

Wasn't AP the kick returner because we had pretty much no other threat besides him?

Koren Robinson was gone, none of our defensive backs likely fit that role, Troy Williamson was terrible at everything except running fast..

Aundrae Allison was a threat I gueaa, although his career didn't last long.

AP was returning kicks because he was a backup playing behind Chester Taylor and the coaches thought that he was the best nonstarter for the job. When AP was promoted ahead of Taylor the team has someone else return kicks iirc.

Cook may start the season as a backup to Murray. If that happens, Priefer may think that Cook is the best nonstarter at returning kicks.
