Billy talking about the full rebuild means it, he's going to prioritize bats, Happ is the primary talking point between the sides.

Gray's value isn't as high as most think.

What's causing Gray's play to drop. A few years ago and he was seen as one of the top pitchers in the game.

Happ.

Seems really unlikely to me. Both that they Cubs would deal Happ at all, and that they acquire Gray.

We've seen crazier things, but I agree it isn't likely.

Oh yeah, I mean, this is Beane we're talking about. He accepted a package of already-crappy but young MLBer Brett Lawrie, BOR AAA starters Kendall Graveman and Sean Nolin, and the toolsy and high-ceilinged A ball player in Franklin Barreto. Barreto was on the backend of a few top 100 lists, but that was it.

Him accepting a head-scratching package for a good player in Sonny Gray wouldn't be the first time.

The rumor mill has dropped a little birdy that the Stros have a Forrest Whitley, Joe Musgrove, and Teoscar Hernandez package for Gray (or this is what the A's are asking for, wasn't specified). Stros would achieve their goal of keeping Tucker and obtaining a pitcher with team control. Smile

I saw that on clutchfans and bust out laughing. If thats all it takes to get Gray then sign me up.

So it legit might not even take Happ if that's the asking price.

Same, on the second part. I got it from from reddit. Laughing Would take that deal in a heartbeat and I'm a big fan of Whitley.

Didnt Beane pretty much outright say his mandate from ownesrhip was to field competitive teams and at times that meant accepting lesser offers for mlb ready guys? Supposedly that isnt the case anymore and hes looking for the best return he can get.

What would be an acceptable return for a guy like Josh Harrison of the Pirates? I'm not sure to be honest...read that the Red Sox were interested.

It sucks when you're a obvious seller and have nothing good to sell.

Outside of the ridiculous Stanton/Yelich rumors the only thing somewhat legit i've heard out of Philly was from Jason Stark who said that There is some interest from the Yankees in a package of Pat Neshak and Tommy Joseph together but we'd probably only get a couple of decent A ball guys.

Yankee fans, what say you?
