I think it was the way we cut Maclin, I think him getting cut was already in discussions up that point.

But you just leave a voice mail? Final straw I imagine

Kind if a lose-lose situation for Dorsey in that regard; keep Maclin and continue overpaying for how we utilize him, or cut him and have the coach/owner disagree with the move

But that's the job. Some calls are tough. It's when you make a tough call when your boss is not up to speed that the fecal matter flies. The FM hits the rotary impeller blade when you bungle the follow through.

Reports I read would make Maclin seem like a liar though. He knew he was getting cut and wasn't available, didn't return calls or messages either.

Either way you got paid, under performed.

That's the thing. We can say Dorsey is a bad guy for leaving a voicemail. But if the transaction was already put in and he couldn't get a hold of Maclin, what was he suppose to do? Let Maclin find out through ESPN? We don't know the full circumstances and likely never will. I find it hard to believe that Dorsey didn't try to speak with Maclin prior to settling on a voicemail.

Normally you would talk to them before putting in the transaction. It isn't as if Dorsey had no control of when Maclin was cut. It's not like there was a time of day Maclin had to be cut by. It wasn't urgent. There was no reason to not be able to speak to him personally prior.

Well, if Maclin knew everything before he got cut (and Dorsey probably didn't use the "cone of silence"), then I'm sure Reid had time to go whine to Clark Hunt. Why Hunt didn't out in front of all this before it went down tells me he let it happen so he'd have an excuse to dismiss Dorsey.

I still think this was a power play with Reid winning. He's got his QB to teach ya know. Everything Reid does now is above reproach.

Eagles fans already warned us of this.

im really liking Brett Veach though. Started out with Reid as a scout, so he'll know what Reid likes on his team/offense. Had a hand in drafting guys like Desean Jackson and Fletcher Cox.

Only thing is he started with Reid, would he be a "yes man"? He seems talented enough. But who knows what Hunt is thinking.

(fun fact: He caught passes from Matt Nagy in college)

I think after the Dorsey.. The KC Job is not as attractive as it should have been. I like the Seattle guy. Good Scout like track record there.

Seems we've been looking at scouts not just bean counters, gives me hope.
