Cars 3

Doubt Cars 3 makes it now. Pirates too. Guardians will probably just fall short.

That's a lot of money left to make considering it's already opened in all markets.

it is but it has incredible legs. We're seeing historically low week to week drops.

Have a lot of blockbuster to deal with in the coming weeks. No way it tops 1 billion.

Summer Predictions that will be way off

1.Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
425 million
-I think it will do Iron Man 3 numbers. Over a billion total.
374 currently, might hit 400

2.Despicable Me 3
345 million
-This is a huge franchise. Minions was over 1 billion, and DM2 was not far behind.

3.Spider-Man: Homecoming
240 million
-Will probably bounce back under Marvel. Iron Man in the film will help.

4.Wonder Woman
225 million
-This could be much higher or lower. Really cant tell. If it has descent reviews it could be close to Suicide Squad.
274 already, way off but most people would be

5.War for the Planet of the Apes
210 million
-Will probably be in line with the second, which did 200 mil. Good buzz from trailers.

6.Transformers: The Last Knight
205 million
-The last had a huge drop, and this should drop even more. Will still reach 1 billion worldwide.

7.Dunkirk
180 million
-Interstellar did close to this number, and Nolan always brings in crowds. Being a war movie could hurt.

8.Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Me Tell No Tales
180 million
-Much like Transformers, this is a dying franchise in North America. It could bomb even further. Worldwide will be big.
150 currently, going to be very close

9.Cars 3
160 million
-Pixar will make money even though the Cars franchise is weak. 160 million could be high end though.
53 opening weekend, too far out to know yet

10.The Mummy
140 million
-Not sure about this projection. Cruise isnt big box office in America any more, but he should be able to get this film over 100 million, but who knows by how much.
56 million. Wont hit 140, might not hit 100

11.The Dark Tower
135 million
-Another movie that I dont know how to project. It should do descently at the end of July, and McConaughey should bring in some people. Reviews will make or break this film.

12.Alien Covenant
125 million
-Going to project this close to Prometheus. Could be higher since it does have Alien in the title.
72 mil. way off

13.The Emoji Movie
105 million
-Read in a couple places that this could surprise this summer. Im not sure about that, but it should be around the total of Angry Birds.

14.Rough Night
100 million
-This is my surprise of the summer. There seems to be one woman centric film to do well each summer, and I think this will be it.
8 mil opening weekend. way off again

15.Baywatch
95 million
-I think this could bomb further. I dont think it will find the Neighbors/Jump Street audience, and The Rock doesnt have a great track record in headlining moves by himself.
55 mil. was a little bullish on it

16.Annabelle: Creation
80 million
-The might be conservative but it should be close to the first movie in the film.

17.King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
75 million
-This could be a great movie, but the genre doesnt seem to do well, and since this comes out a week after GoTG, I dont think it will do well.
38 mil. off again

18.Snatched
75 million
-Amy Schumer's last movie did over 100 million, but it seems she is losing her audience, and I see this falling short of Trainwrecked.

19.Detroit
70 million
-Bigelow's last movie, Zero Dark Thirty, almost reached 100 million, and I dont think Detroit will reach that, but it should do well with her track record.

20.All Eyez on Me
65 million
-Notorious did less than 40 mil. Straight Outta Compton did well over 100 million. All Eyez on Me should be somewhere in the middle.
27 mil opening weekend. will be close

It will sell toys though.

That's its purpose.

I never said $1B, I said $750M-$800M, considering its almost at $600M after 3 weeks, I'd say that's pretty doable.

Bingo. Already got my kids most of the die cast models from this movie, and I'm sure I'll be getting more over the course of the summer. Heck, I'm still buying models from the first Cars (you'd be shocked how hard it is to find Wingo at a reasonable price...)
