Hunter is a great find, pretty awesome what he has accomplished so far for being such a young player. Pass rush ability was Hunter's biggest weakness coming out, his pass rush production wasn't there at LSU.

Hunter is definitely the RE of the future.

15.5 — number of career sacks by Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter through 26 games; Hunter’s tally is the most of any player selected in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Finishes season with 12.5 sacks. Not bad for a backup. Cool

He definitely should be a "starter" next year.

If Hunter plays the same number of snaps that Brian Robison played last year, and maintains his production, he will finish the season with approximately 17.5 sacks. It will be about 18.5 if he plays the same number of snaps as Everson Griffen.

That would be awesome.

or as it goes in Zimmer's system, he'll get double teamed a lot more and some of his sacks go to another player. Zim doesn't care who gets them individually.

but yeah, looks to be a great pick on Spiel's part.

Such a beast. Glad he is under contract for 2 more years, he's gonna get paid.

Next offseason will be interesting to see how it gets handled, since Everson, Hunter, and Linval all enter the final season of their contract (as well as Robison, but we know he'll likely retire at the end of that season). Everson will reach age 31 at the end of that season and Linval will be turning 30, while Danielle will only be 24. What kind of deals would they consider giving those 2 30+ yr olds? Or will they just let Everson walk? It's something to start thinking about.

I agree disaacs. I wonder if Everson will want to go the same route as B-Rob.

Nose tackle isn't really a position that being 30+ hurts you. And with also losing Robison, I can't see them letting Griffen go either.

But, the salary they may command, even for a short term deal, does hurt, considering they'll likely have to pay 1 of the QBs, and Diggs, Barr, Kendricks and Robinson (should he be the 3rd LB) will all need deals as well. Someone will likely have to go, because they aren't going to be able to pay them all. Therefore, IMO, that will likely have to be Everson.

I think it'll be Griffen too

I could see us re-signing Joseph to a shorter deal and pay Hunter top 5 money for his position.
