I drink a lot....Also Curtis Martin and Brett Favre were 2 of my favorite players growing up. Curtis got me watching them and then Favre sort of pushed me over the top as far as being a die hard fan.

Born in buffalo, my favorite color is green. When I was like 4, bills and Jets were playing and I asked "who is the green team"- been a fan ever since.

My step dad came into my life pretty young. He was a Jets fan because his dad was. I watched a ton of football with him.
Mo Lewis was my favorite player growing up and that hit on Drew was sick.
Then Brady came along and I've bee miserable ever after

What a lot of our younger Jet fan don't realized how close we were not to have a Jet team. At the end of the 1962 season the Titans went bankrupt and they were going to break up the team. Thank god for Sonny (as in money ) Werblin, he stepped in bought the team and changed the name to the JETS. And moved the team to Shea. Over the years Werblin, built a team that won a Super Bowl. He was our best owner by far.

For me it was the Sack Exchange. Those of you who are too young to remember that time. Think of having 4 guys on the D line that all had 7 or more sacks in a non passing league. Scary..... I loved Al Toon as a kid and when he made a great play the crowd would scream TOOOOOOOOOOOON. I loved that as a Kid.

Growing up my dad didnt like any sports at all besides boxing. So when hanging out with my friends and they'd talk about sports Id have to shut the hell up or say something stupid or make up a b.s. highlight like oh when that guy whats his name sacked the Point guard that was crazy. So one day I decided to throw on a football game and all I remember was that the Jets WON that game with a Leon Johnson punt return for a TD. And I then pronounced my self a Jets fan!

When I was in kindergarten (1986) I decided to like the opposite of all the teams the other kids in my classed like. Everyone liked the Giants cause they were winning so I decided to be a diehard Jets fan.

Wore #57 throughout high school in honor of Mo Lewis

Here in Montreal, we would usually get 1 of 4 teams playing as the 'local' team on television: NY Jets, NY Giants, Buffalo and New England. In the early 80's I had a fascination with Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers. One day as I was watching football, I noticed a guy wearing No. 99 on the green team. I thought that was pretty cool, so I started paying attention. Soon, I realized Mark Gastineau was a celebrity in his own right, so I started following the team. Loved the NY Sack Exchange, loved Wesley Walker, loved Al Toon but my favorite Jet was Freeman McNeil. Loved Gastineau, too.

Great choice of players, they were my favorite players also, I go back a little further than you so I would add Joe Namath. It was to bad Al Toon's career was cut so short by injuries.
