he's a young player. why trade him away and rely on AP?

isn't Mangold still available?

The Saints did draft Kamara in round two.

Exactly. Not only did they sign Peterson, but they added a pass-catching back in Kamara as well, bumping down Ingram's potential role to nil.

I see it as a good move for both teams. The Eagles running backs are all essentially the same style of player. They don't have a bigger back and Ingram would fit in well there I think.

It would be interesting if they just keep trading skill position players to fill the center position.

The NFL is continuing to loosen its injured reserve rules.

Judy Battista of NFL Network reports that NFL owners are expected to pass a proposal to allow a second player to come off injured reserve during the season. The owners are meeting on Monday in Chicago.

I think that's a good idea. I still think they should expand the rosters to 56 at minimum, but it's a start.

I never understood why you can't take players off of IR. It allows more players to see the roster, and I don't see how it is a disadvantage for other teams.

with Blount signing in Philly, maybe the Giants make a call for Ingram? or the Ravens?

Apparently, the Saints must have not realized that they lost what little leverage they had in trading Ingram when they drafted Kamara.

@AlbertBreer: Per source, the owners just passed a resolution eliminating the 75-man cutdown. So now, there'll be just one cutdown day -- 90 to 53.

A lot of players hitting the market in 1 day. It's like a typical downsizing of an American manufacturer...and like them as well, many of them will have to find a job in an alternate field.

They should have met in the middle and only have 1 cut-down day, but keep the roster size as 60.

I believe they would need to renegotiate with the NFLPA to expand the roster size, because that would impact the cap. I'd certainly like to see them do that too, but that would have to be done outside of the scope of owner's meetings.

But, the one possible benefit of the flooding of the market with just 1 cut-down day is that it may be a little easier to sneak guys through the waiver wire to add them to your practice squad.

The Orlando Police Department announced that Pro Football Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy has died at the age of 48. A cause of death has not been announced, but a member of the Orlando Police Department told the Blytheville Courier News in Arkansas, Kennedy’s home state, that there is nothing suspicious at this point.

Very sad...he was one of my favorite players in the 90s, especially since the Seahawks were my favorite AFC team at that time.
