The writing was on the wall after the Chargers selected both Forrest Lamp and Dan Feeney on the second day of the draft. Signed to a five-year, $36.5 million contract in 2015, Franklin struggled through injuries and poor play both of his seasons in San Diego. Only 29, Franklin should find another job before camp.

Hate to see a man lose his job, but he was bad.

Interesting. Wonder what type of contract will net him. The Cowboys could use some depth at OG. Leary went to the Broncos and Collins moved to RT.

I don't know if he would fit in Dallas. He can't move at all anymore.

Can play RT and OG , but is pretty average at both. Will definitely find a home.

Chargers really overhauled their biggest weakness on O - Lamp and Feeney were IMO the top overall OL, and the 2nd-best OG (I won't quibble if some prefer Dion Dawkins).

If Max Tuerk can be even a league average C, that's a big upgrade to their interior OL both short and long-term (I'm guessing Feeney doesn't start right away, but will eventually as long as the concussions don't come back). Melvin Gordon could have a huge year, and anything that keeps pressure off Rivers is nothing but a good thing. Even though Okung was awful last year (and did that while healthy), overall the Chargers OL should be way ahead of last year's bunch - .

No doubt Franklin will sign somewhere, but the fact the Chargers only get 2.5M of cap relief this year, that's a major statement of where they see their OL heading.

Is he a Tackle or Guard? Either way i hope we'd bring him to camp

Good riddance tbh, he was awful.

Anyways I'm very excited about the revamped O-line. If you are a fantasy owner, look for Melvin Gordon to have a monster year.

He was iffy as a T several years ago. I can't imagine he'd be anything but a G now.

He was awful when he was on the field, but he'll get a job as a backup/starter somwhere.

Long live Phillip Rivers and his constant carrying of this god awful team.

Also go (South Carolina) Charleston Dingoes. Looking for a co-owner for a fantasy team so PM me please.

Yeah, he should get signed by a team, could be a good depth pickup.

At least 2 of the Florida teams could use the help at guard. Maybe Cincinnati after letting Kevin Zeitler go and not really replacing him? Maybe Houston? They could use some o-line help and really only drafted a project tackle in Davenport.

Never lived up to the big money deal we gave him. He's below average starter at guard right now but maybe it was a scheme issue. Decent depth and if your desperate for a starter then I guess it'd be a good signing at a small prove it deal level.
