I think everyone saw the writing on the wall for quite a while now. I feel bad for him because he clearly has mental issues.

I sympathize with the mental health issues but if smoking weed is doing more harm than good and your employer will fire you for doing it you need to go the pharmaceutical route... there are other meds out there. I don't personally think they work as well but there are other options that would allow him to deal with his issues and have an actual career. So ya cut him immediately. Jerry can try to help him but he needs to be off the team and wE need to move on

I'll wait to hear from a more legitimate source, but if true...it's a shame.

Just remember no one is bigger than the TEAM itself, so just part ways with him. He really needs help unfortunately , it is what it is. How much more can the Cowboys do for the kid? I know Jerry Jones keeps talking about changing the drug policies in the NFL but until that happens if Randy can't kick the habit why should the rest of the team suffer . Give someone else the chance to try and shine that deserves that roster spot. Move on, move on. Lets go boys.

He seems like such a smart guy...and to see him destroy his life and career is a little tragic, but people do it everyday. He's has every right to [inappropriate/removed] away a fortune if he wants to. I certainly wouldn't keep him around and watch him do it. I'd cut him today, and buy him a plane ticket to a rehab facility.

And wash my hands of him forever, cause I could never trust him again.

I know some people who smoke weed who are just frankly stupid people, but there are people who truly have "mental issues/disorders".

I feel the latter is the case. Sadly it will only get worse and the depression and realization of how his once promising life is now greatly in jeopardy.

I feel for him, truly do. But it is the right move for Dallas to cut him.

This. 100% this.

That being said, the burden to change that rule falls on the NFLPA. They've had numerous opportunities to change the CBA over this issue, but it's never even come up for discussion. So, in this instance, the players have no one to blame but themselves for not getting it removed from the CBA.

Anyone else think he could have been a solid SAM Blitzer? I know he was slotted at DE, but at 240 pounds I'm sure he could have gotten some snaps at SLB.

He had great speed and I do believe he had the ability to blitz from anywhere. Bottom line is it doesn't matter now.

Sad, but true.

As it has been discussed - Jerry is actively working with the NFLPA to change the weed-rules. I suspect sometime this off-season we will here more. Will be interesting to see how it impacts Randy, if at all.
