I think this was pouring one out for Baalke...everyone knows that 7th round picks are for defensive backs

I noticed the niners have him listed as a Safety
however when you look at his highlight film he's playing alot of corner

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TCXczwSK0Y

He fits the height/weight/speed of the type of corners they like in this scheme

That's what Lynch said in his presser as well. He will first be tried at CB.

He was a safety at UT, then transferred Miami, where they played him at corner. He's not quite at the measurements that are listed for him. I think places have him listed at 6'2, but he measured in at his pro day at 6'0 I believe.

I think you got it the opposite? Wasn't he a CB at Texas and a S at Miami?

6ft is still pretty good size for a press corner ...granted its not 6'2" but still pretty decent.

This was one of the two picks I knew almost nothing about. Intriguing pick, still.

Do we know if we are keeping him at corner?

Okay, then Lynch was wrong saying he was a corner at Texas and safety at Miami Laughing.

But yes, the plan for him is to be a CB not a S.

Okay. That does make sense if we want physical corners. That dude can lay the wood.

almost every team has that guy who wasn't drafted or drafted late who had little to no expectation to be good or even make the final 53 that turns out to be a stud/pro-bowler/all pro.

Its high time for us to finally have a guy like that
I really hope its this kid.

It seemed like more than anything, Lynch/Shanahan REALLY like him for special teams. They think he could be a stand out there.
