*** Denver trades 1.20 to Kansas City for 1.27 and 3.104 ***

1.27 – TJ Watt ILB/EDGE – Wisconsin
WHY? Elway will take BPA and there is a great chance Watt is that man. He is swiss-army-knife of a prospect, who will be drafted to play ILB on early downs and moved around as we desire on passing downs to generate pressures. He fits the mold of Derek Wolfe, a guy seen as high motor / effort but actually possesses elite measurable. His awareness in zone coverage and great run stopping metrics will allow him to start at ILB right away, and his main weakness of bending the corner rushing will be mitigated as the scheme will use him as a blitzer when going after the QB rather than traditional EDGE rusher.

2.51 – Taylor Moton OL – Western Michigan
WHY? This is a fit that isn’t talked about much. Moton is a relatively polished, mauling RT with acceptable pass protection with the physical traits and girth to get immediate snaps. He has the ability to step in immediately at RT and help transition this team from finesse ZBS to smash mouth power running. He isn’t going to be an elite player, but can start immediately and projects as a long term starter, the type you wish was a Pro Bowler but don’t go out of the way to replace.

*** Denver trades 3.83 and 4.126 to LA Chargers for 3.71 ***

3.71 – Montravius Adams DL – Auburn
WHY? I have been high on Adams for two years now, and see him as the type that will be a better NFL player than college guy. He has a NFL body and athleticism with the versatility to play 34DE or attacking NT. He gets off the snap quick and is extremely strong pound-for-pound. He has been labeled an underachiever and has motor issues, but the issues are why he is available this late. He will either develop into our long term NT as his talent is levels above the younger Peko, push Kerr and Gotsis for the starting 34DE spot or simply be used as a jack-of-all-trades interior backup since he can hold the LOS at NT, set the edge at 34DE, rush inside or outside on passing downs, etc. Just a really versatile player.

3.101 – Gerald Everett TE – South Alabama
WHY? The draft is full of seam-busting TE talents and we stand pat late in R3 and take whoever is available, and IMO that will be Everett. He projects as a Jacob Tamme type IMO and that’s just what we could use down the middle. He can get snaps as the #2TE and slot WR right away and has proven to make some extremely difficult catches.

3.104 – Sidney Jones CB – Washington
WHY? This is our pick for the future. Simply put, Jones has the exact demeanor on the field that we look for in DB’s and is a R1 talent. We roll the dice on his big injury and RS him for the season. With the looming contract extension for Roby and likely sooner-than-later decline of Talib, we need to take advantage of the insane CB depth this season and Sidney is a great value.

5.177 – James Conner RB – Pittsburgh
WHY? Our RB position is still up-in-the-air and we need to add talent. Conner is a bruising RB who developed as a pass catcher last season, but primarily will project as a good fit in a power scheme IMO. He isn’t going to break huge runs, but should be a steady, hard churning power back who can contribute on ST from day 1.

6.203 – Ryan Switzer WR – North Carolina
WHY? Not sure if he is available this late, but Switzer is the return specialist that we need. Not sure he gets much burn as a WR with Jordan Taylor and Everett, but he has potential there as well. We have interest in him, the smaller slot WR position is devalued and there are a number of other return specialist this draft so hopefully he is available this late.

Round Seven – The below three are guys we have met with that project R6/7 and are drafted to our practice squad.
7.238 – Tyrique Jarrett NT - Pittsburgh
7.252 – Sam Tevi OT - Utah
7.253 – Garrett Sickels EDGE – Penn State

QB – Trevor Siemian / Paxton Lynch
RB – CJ Anderson / Devontae Booker / James Conner
FB – Andy Janovich
TE – AJ Derby / Gerald Everett / Jeff Heuerman or Virgil Green
WR1 – Deymarius Thomas / Bennie Fowler or Cody Latimer
WR2 – Emmanuel Sanders / Ryan Switzer
WR3 – Jordan Taylor
LT – Menelik Watson / Donald Stephenson / Ty Sambrialo
LG – Ronald Leary / Max Garcia
OC – Matt Paradis / Max Garcia
RG – Michael Schofield / Connor McGovern
RT – Taylor Moton / Donald Stephenson

DE – Zach Kerr / Jared Crick
NT – Domata Peko / Kyle Peko
DE – Derek Wolfe / Montravius Adams / Adam Gotsis
EDGE – Von Miller / Shaq Barrett
ILB – TJ Watt / Todd Davis
ILB – Brandon Marshall / Corey Nelson
EDGE – Shane Ray / Kasim Edebali or Vontarrius Dora
CB1 – Chris Harris Jr / Lorenzo Doss
CB2 – Aquib Talib / Sidney Jones
CB3 – Bradley Roby
FS – Darian Stewart / Justin Simmons
SS – TJ Ward / William Parks

Jones won't be there. He is expected to play in September. We won't trade with KC.
In reference to concern about Joshua Dobbs' Knees

I would do backflips from Philly to Denver is this happened.

Also- good chance Jones is still there in a class where the CB position is super deep and a bunch of guys have had the chance to showcase skills.

Thanks, Tzimisce

I would love this but with reports Jones has 4-6 months left in his recovery, latest he falls is back of Rd 2 now IMO.

One Q - do you really think Montravius Adams wouldn't drop to us at 3.82? Then we'd get ILB perhaps with Duke Riley or Walker Jr. at 101 (again, Jones I dont' think is there) and a Howard Wilson type CB at 125.
