Here's my final quick mock. My first mock was us switching to a 4-3 but really it's just a hybrid version of the 4-2-5 or since Bowles loves the 3-4 it would be a 2-4-5 in his eyes.

Draft
1.6 - Solomon Thomas (DE/OLB) - Rumors are floating that Thomas could slip a few spots since he's that tweener like player and with QB's rising as we get closer the chance is there. Thomas immediately steps on the field as the prototype 7-tech setting the edge and rushing the passer. Paired with Mo/Williams now being allowed to 1-gap and penetrate more those three along with Mauldin could be a disruptive DL while only rushing 4.

2.39 - TRADE!! Jets trade #39, 5th and Richardson to CLE for #52 and #65. We have all focused on pick #6 to trade back but this could be another spot to make a trade back. This values Sheldon at a early/mid 4th round value. CLE has a ton of picks and with the depth in the draft a first round talent could be available at 39. With two 1sts and now two early 2nds for CLE along with Sheldon they could have one heck of a draft haul. This is assuming they don't use it to go up for Turbisky.

2.52 - Budda Baker (FS) - All around safety with range, tackling and slot coverage ability. Has Earl Thomas/Honey badger upside. Would immediately transform the secondary with his play and attitude. With 2" in height and 10 lbs he's probably the #1 safety in a stacked class. Small size will help him drop to here.

3.65 - Ahkello Witherspoon (CB) - We complete the revamped secondary early with a CB right up Bowles alley. With elite measurables and press ability he has #1 CB upside. Thanks to the CB depth he is there at the top of round 3. He's raw, needs to get stronger and get better at tackling but the ball skills are there with a very high 20+ passes defensed last year. Could be a future tandem with Burris as two 6'2"+ CBs outside.

3.70 - Blair Brown (ILB) - Well rounded ILB with plenty of sideline to sideline speed and excellent instincts. Shoots the gaps very well and has no hesitation being that thumper type LBer. Would be a great pairing with Lee at ILB but still plenty fast 4.6 speed to cover in space.

3.107 - Adam Shaheen (TE) - Athletic, 6'6" can move and has the frame to block. Will be a project for sure going from Ashland to NFL but as a former hoops player the hands and movement skills are there.

6th - Chris Carson (RB) - Well rounded, good balance, and has solid hands. Needs to improve his pad level as a power back. Would start out as a short yardage guy but with his well rounded ability could be a nice tandem with Powell moving forward.

7th - Zane Gonzalez (K) - At this point why not, we need competition and he is viewed as the best in this class.

no thanks to Thomas. Baker and Witherspoon would be pretty solid picks. Shaheen would be ok, but seems like a pretty big risk coming out of a small school

Budda won't make it to 52 bud. Also don't like Thomas.

I can see the Browns being a good trading partner. I think we are getting short changed though. During the season, we were asking for a 1st Rd and rumors were that Dallas was willing to part ways with a 2nd. It's hard for me to get behind Richardson being valued as an early 4th. If you exclude the 5th Rd pick, I think it'll be a tad more reasonable. So, that's Richardson at a mid to late 3rd round. We will likely get a 3rd Rd comp pick for him if we just keep him and let him walk. So, I don't see why we would trade him for anything less than a 3rd.

If you were GM you would be fired before sundown, where are the offensive players?

Thomas is a good player, but he's exactly what this defense doesn't need... complicate things even more. Also Baker is probably a back end 1st rounder, never mind falling to 52. And I just can't believe how badly you've ignored offense. You addressing offense is Shaheen and Carson? Really?!?! This draft actually I think might make us a worse team in the long run, if that's possible.
