IMO there's no 1st. rd. QB to be had. Teams will chase inferior QB's in the first round to satisfy their fan base.

In this I think you are mistaken. What you consider 1st round QB is actually a top 10 pick. Any QB in the top 100 players is a 1st round pick. Any QB from 1-400 is draftable. The position inflation is that extreme.

This sounds about right, unless your in the top 10 your going to have to reach at some point when you want QB.

Relative to the rest of the prospects this year, and given the depth of the class, I think he's right. The QBs this year aren't particularly strong, but most other positions (besides O-line) are very strong. IMO, there are far too many great prospects from other positions that no QB is really R1 worthy (i.e. no QB is a top 32 prospect).

However, I would be willing to take a QB like Mahomes if a prospect I really like isn't available. He has the risk-taking and strong arm that is valuable, and could be taught the restraint and patience he needs from Smith. He's a replacement piece that might be worth taking if there aren't the players we want at the positions we want available at 27.

I disagree. This class lacks an elite player or even a outstanding one, but it has good depth. The first QB taken would likely not go before #20 most years, but there are just as many top 100 type players as usual.

It entirely depends on how the boards falls. He seems like a 3rd round candidate to me though.

I'd rather stock up on the talent that this draft is deep in; RB, DB, TE, etc. Then take a QB next year, which should be a more top heavy class.

But, I wouldn't be surprised if we take CJ Beathard or Alek Torgersen this year in the mid-late rounds.

I am not a Peterman fan. After the big 3, 4 now, the next guy is Webb. Him I would take at #59.

Ka'aya at #91 also appeals.

I don't believe it for a second.
Just because you want a QB DOES NOT mean you have to throw value out the window.
For example I'd be ok with taking Josh Dobbs in the 4th. rd., or maybe even with our 1st. compensatory pick. That doesn't mean he hasn't got as good a chance as most any other QB in the draft to become a "franchise" QB. There's just no Peyton Manning out there this year, so Dobbs is as good as any.
Again, you don't have to throw a valuable DP at a QB if he's not worth it, just to please your fan base.

NFL.com has the Chiefs taking DeShaun Watson, 3/5 experts.
Watson has the drive to succeed. I could live with this.

Yeah I asked the same in another thread you keep hearing how we really like watson. Could be smoke screen who knows maybe only reason we want a QB to fall to us is to have some trade back options. Can't wait for tomorrow night to find out.

I heard a great line about the QB class. The top player is Trubisky and his best NFL comp is, wait for it, Alex Smith.
