That's a buncha cash. Being that we were pretty taxed on cap room already, I gotta figure this is very back-loaded. 'course, we did have his Franchise tag money already accounted for.

Looking forward to the details.

In any case, looks like we've got him through the end of his career.

No trading that contract away... just hope it doesn't come back to bite us.

Glad to see KK get a long term deal in Carolina. Hopefully he can be a helathy and productive player that that the franchise can build around. I hope the can keep Star next season. While Star will not command KK money, it will still be a lot. Big season for the Panthers Dline. If Butler steps up, they may allow Star to test the FA waters...

Love it. This defense is very reliant on interior pressure.

Looks like $35M fully guaranteed, so just a shade under what Fletcher Cox got.

I'm happy for it, but not like, elated. I think that the writing's definitely on the wall for Star. It'll be interesting to see how we run our defense if it's VB and KK in the future. Both profile more as UT's in our scheme.

Yeah I heard it plays closer to a three-year contract with two years of Team option afterwards. I hope the implications don't rule out the signing of key players at other positions.

It dang sure eliminates Alan as a possibility at 8... and I was just warming up to the guy.

It absolutely does not eliminate Allen being the pick at 8. We all know Gettleman has a propensity to draft big Dlinemen and Allen would fill a long term need at a premium position. I believe that if he is available, he will be the pick. But I do believe he'll be gone by the 8th pick. His production and maturity make him a no brainer.

He transitions to a 3 tech... so unless you think that Allen, KK or Butler will transition outside... it would be drafting a player at 1.8 that would be 3rd string.

He has the exact same build as Charles Johnson. Allen is a football player, period. He'll make the Panthers defense immediate better. He has so much upside and is proven against good competition. The Panthers have good pass rushing specialist in Addison and Delaire. Allen would be best against the run and is still a decent pass rusher. I'd take him over Soloman Thomas.

You had me until right there. Solomon Thomas is far and away the best 4-3 DE prospect in this class and would fill an immediate and future need. Allen would be a consolation prize.

Also important to note we haven't met with him in any capacity from what I can find.

Maybe, maybe not on Thomas. I'm not sold on him. I'll just have to be wrong. Allen has the best motor out of the bunch. He'll make a good 4-3 DE and thdn slide inside on 3rd down.

Peppers (Addison) - Lotulelei - Short (Butler) - Johnson (S. Thomas)
Davis - Kuechly - Thompson

That is an amazing front seven.
