It has been a while. I'd take this one.

#27: OT CAM ROBINSON ALABAMA
#59: EDGE JORDAN WILLIS KANSAS STATE
#91: WR CHAD HANSEN CALIFORNIA
#104: CB JOURDAN LEWIS MICHIGAN
#132: DL LARRY OGUNJOBI CHARLOTTE

Dunno if Cam can pull all that well. Isn't he more of a mauler?
Love Willis. Dunno Hansen. Lewis would make a superb nickle back. Larry O. is fine on the DLine.

Actually he's not. He is very athletic and a bit of an under-performer.

27 - Alvin Kamara, RB
59 - Tre'Davious White, CB
91 - Sidney Jones, CB
104 - Dawuane Smoot, OLB
133 - Jake Butt, TE
171 - Carroll Phillips, OLB
181 - Kenny Golladay, WR
217 - Jon Heck, OT
219 - Xavier Woods, S
246 - Calvin Munson, LB

Outside what I've already done, I can't bring myself to do any real scouting so far this year. So by doing mocks I'm learning a little each time.

While the positions aren't necessarily what everyone wants, the players themselves all provide competition and future starters/depth.

This draft is stupid good. Also fyi at pick 27 I could take Mitch or Mahommes.
QB's are all over the board some drafts all top 5 are gone in first 20 picks and some drafts the QB's are sliding.

1. QB Mitch Trubisky ( I would have been ok with PM ) I think KC will prob need to trade up about 6 spots to land a QB this year in first round.

2. CB Adoree Jackson

3a. LB Kendell Beckwith
3b. C Ethan Pocic

4. RB D'onta Foreman

5a. LB Elijah Lee
5b. OT Sam Tevi

I paid to play with the "premium" simulator. There, you can select a "classic" or "difficult" algorithm. I use "difficult" which tends to give a more realistic draft and reduces the "stupid" stuff.
They also update the "big board" rankings each week which is a nice touch.

I don't think I can improve on this draft. It reflects much of what I'd like the Chiefs to do. Dorsey isn't afraid to trade back and I'm expecting he does so again. Many of current and near future needs are addressed IMO.

45: R2P1 EDGE, JORDAN WILLIS, KANSAS STATE
59: R2P27 DL, CARLOS WATKINS CLEMSON
77: R3P13 C/OG, ETHAN POCIC, LSU
91: R3P27 LB, KENDELL BECKWITH, LSU
104: R3P40 DL, CHARLES WALKER, OKLAHOMA
119: R4P12 RB, SAMAJE PERINE, OKLAHOMA
132: R4P25 QB, JOSHUA DOBBS, TENNESSEE
170: R5P26 CB, BRIAN ALLEN, UTAH
180: R5P36 LB, BEN GEDEON, MICHIGAN
216: R6P32 CB, SHAQUILL GRIFFIN, UCF
218: R6P34 WR, ROBERT DAVIS, GEORGIA STATE
245: R7P27 RB, DE'ANGELO HENDERSON, COASTAL CAROLINA

TRADES
TRADE PARTNER: ARIZONA CARDINALS

CHIEFS SENT:
• ROUND: 1 PICK: 27

CHIEFS RECEIVED:
• ROUND: 2 PICK: 13
• ROUND: 3 PICK: 13
• ROUND: 4 PICK: 12

The defense will be stud. 2DL's to work now and after Ben Logan and Jaye Howard leave. 2CB's to push starting across Peters. 2ILB's to push starting at ILB. Finally a monster in Willis to pump up the pass rush.
On offense, Morse and Pocic can battle/backup at Center and Guard. Pocic is the best C in the draft and I like the versatility at C/OG now. Fulton can be released. RB's for depth, upgrade. Henderson will surprise. A stud new WR to help now and later. Davis killed the combine and has good size.

Meh just for fun, idk why the OL kept dropping.

27: R1P27 EDGE HAASON REDDICK
TEMPLE
59: R2P27 G DORIAN JOHNSON
PITTSBURGH
91: R3P27 OT ANTONIO GARCIA
TROY
104: R3P40 TE GERALD EVERETT
SOUTH ALABAMA
132: R4P25 C PAT ELFLEIN
OHIO STATE
170: R5P26 CB BRENDAN LANGLEY
LAMAR
180: R5P36 EDGE CARROLL PHILLIPS
ILLINOIS
216: R6P32 EDGE JOE MATHIS
WASHINGTON
218: R6P34 RB T.J. LOGAN
NORTH CAROLINA
245: R7P27 LB BLAIR BROWN

Our OL would be set for some years, plus we can finally get rid of Reid and Fulton.

Missed on a few needs, but I like the OL and ILB upgrades.

-Don't think Reddick will fall to us Love him tho. He can play all across and behind the Dline. Pass rusher on the outside and great run stopper in the middle.
-I understand C and OG need. OT can be had next draft.
-This is a great draft for CB. I'd take 2 and make one start across from Peters.
-I don't think Phillips/Mathis equals one Jordan Willis.
Quote:
“Willis uses strong hands and a variety of moves to rank fifth overall as a pass-rusher at 89.5 while posting the top grade against the run at an identical 89.5.” –PFF

-Logan is fine, but the draft is great at RB. Take 2 and maybe drop C.West.
-I like Brown at ILB. KC needs 2 tho (in case of injury). Beckwith, Gedeon, Brown. Pick 2 and let's play.

This is the most ridiculous I have managed.

27: EDGE SOLOMAN THOMAS STANFORD
59: WR JOHN ROSS WASHINGTON
91: TE JORDAN LEGGETT CLEMSON
104: DL LARRY OGUNJOBI CHARLOTTE
132: G DANNY ISIDORA MIAMI

Is anyone but Thomas even in the right round?

I like Kamara, but no way am I taking him 1st Round in this draft class. Too much talent at RB this year to take a RB half a round too early

Do not like the next 2 picks either.

After that I'm totally on board with you though. Don't really like Stewart or Carraway but not enough to complain about it Wink

I'd rather see us trade back, but if not, I expect us to go Defense at 1/27. Kamara is a good RB pick tho. Beckwith is also one of my ILB picks right where you have him. Wilson is a good coverage guy who lacks run support. Jackson will be long gone. He's a 2nd.-3rd. rounder.

I agree that this is a strong RB class. But I think Kamara would fit best with us. As you said, this may be a half round too early. But if he goes a half round later, he won't be there for us to pick in the 2nd. If you want him you have to take him. In this mock the top ILB and CB were gone so I had little debate.

Williams for me depends entirely on his interview process. If he falls to the 2nd and interviews go well, he could be a steal.

I personally like Beckwith. Coming in he'll be 4th or so on the depth chart behind Johnson, Wilson and March. He'll get time to develop and learn from some good vets before possibly starting in 2-3 years.

I prefer that we trade out of the 1st and pick up another 1st and more next year. The QB class in 2018 is looking to be pretty good and it'd be nice to have the ammo to move up if we choose to. Plus we don't have 10 roster spots plus room for UDFA. IIRC, in 2018 we have 17 free agents. So we'll need those picks next year.

This QB class looks pretty good. There are no solid 1st round talents, but rounds 2-5 are thick with prospects. For the Chiefs purposes, this is an ideal year.

27: RB CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY STANFORD
59: EDGE JORDAN WILLIS KANSAS STATE
91: CB AHKELLO WITHERSPOON COLORADO
104: LB KENDELL BECKWITH LSU
132: TE JAKE BUTT MICHIGAN

QBs were flying off. Some good stuff was left.
